But the elbow is a PITA to secure to the inlet unlike a straight connection. As soon as I seen your plumbing pics, I thought of my Mustang buddy's problem not long ago at the track. He ran the first round clicking off a low 12 but afterwards could not do any better than a 12.7 or so. His boost seemed to 'flutter' and he couldn't find the cause. It was the next day at home with the car on jackstands he discovered the connection had become partly separated on the bottom side of the elbow as shown in the pic. He later claimed there wasn't room for a T-bolt clamp? Maybe your elbow/inlet setup is different but it sure looked familiar. ![]()

That connection sees vac only anyway, so it's not like it will be blowing off under pressure. Regular clamps worked there for me without issues in the past.

Thats what I was thinking too, it almost looked to me like that hose your buddy was using was a bit too big, but I didn't want to jack the thread and comment about it. I bet the Mustang was getting engine torque issues causing the engine to shift pulling the tube off.

Just got home from Aric's shop. Man... This set-up is hot
I am so impressed with his work, I am speechless. He finished buffing the IC pipe, and is in final assembly mode now putting it all back together. This was the first time I got to see everything without the tape and cardboard on the compressor and intercooler, and I tell you, the whole package just looks incredible. Tomorrow he is going to change the fluids, wire the MAF, hook the battery up, and bring the Mark back to life ![]() JP, the elbow has the same SS t-bolt clamps that are used on the rest of the IC plumbing.

Joe, That is exactly what Aric told me yesterday. Great minds think alike ![]() I hope that the IC, headers, and the blow through MAF will help things along and get me solid into the 400's. I have been sitting on the edge of my chair all day waiting for Aric to call and say it's running. The video camera is on the charger too. I only have the old still digi camera though, so the pics are going to be crap like the IC pics until Wendy and the kids return from San Francisco on Sunday with the good camera. Aric will drive the Mark for a few days to make sure all is well, and to set shift points and such. Then, onto the rollers for the dyno tune. The brakes are on order, and he still needs to measure everything again to make sure the rims will fit and get them on order along with the tires.

It's A L I V E !!!
LOL, At 6:00pm, I am at the Walmart doing Wendy's job buying crap since she did not stock the house well enough before she goes to California to play with the bears, and I get a call on my cell from Aric's shop. All I hear is this badass sound for a few seconds... then Ryan say's it's alive! I got loud with excitement, and people began to stop and stare at the old fart going nuts in the Walmart Now I can't get this grin off my face, and I totally forgot what I went to Walmart for, so I came home and had to post the news. W O O T

One Mustang guy dropped his 1/4 mile time from 10.9 to 10.2 just by putting in Lonnie's tranny and TC. He's upwards of 700hp. |
