Thanks Guys, the quote I am looking over is for a 302 stroker with custom Manley pistons-off set, race ported cylinder heads, and custom grind cams.

I wouldn't go with stroker for centrifugal blower application .Centi blowers love high rpms and by adding stroker you're lowering your rpm limits.

I'll second that. I bought Jeremi's 97 with a built engine. about 10:1 compression and 14 or so psi. It's great, I can still get about 22-23 highway MPG at 75!

The way it was explained to me, if I go with this engine, it will be much more efficient moving air through it ie: less boost needed to make the same amount of power I have now. It is about the whole package - intake, heads, cams, and pistons. Additionally, when you start making big power, high compression is not favorable. 9:1 was the number given to me.

Are you planning to make big power 600+ rwhp or 20+psi of boost than go with low compression if not than go with higher compression because you should have no problems with detonation on Intercooled setup like yours.
Just look at the Difference between my setup high compression vs yours stock compression. I have similar bolt ons as you and last year with 3.5 pulley on my vortech (8 psi) and stock gen 2 intake manifold my car run 11.7 @ 120 mph and yours with 3.1 pulley is running 12.1 @ 113 so what is making my car stronger !!!!!!

High compression =more power with less boost

Yes. And beyond... The problem I am faced with, is deciding to go ahead with this motor and never actually use all the power potential it has. It is a motor designed for JT trim.

Do not comparee your motor to his. It's too close in compression. Stock is 9.85:1 or something vs your 10:1. The power comes from somewhere else and you know it

The biggest difference is when people talk about mighty ford ill advised 8.5:1 vs 10:1 or so. The power curve and TQ curve look and FEEL enitrely different in that case. Ever dyno a stock 03 Cobra motor without the blower ? LOL

Mike likes his torqueless car. Leave him be. 9:1 sounds like a very good number for your plans Mike.

Finally decided. It was very tough, but I found myself at a crossroad with the Mark. I have decided to keep it in the 400-500rwhp range. I just do not see the point of going any further with the power at this time. Therefore, mostly bottom end stuff is going to be done. Here is a highlight list:

Injected 302 Stroker Kit

Custom Manley Pistons-off set

Manley H-Beam Rods

ARP 2000 Bolts

Total Seal Stainless File Rings

Federal Mogul H Rod & Main Bearings

ARP Main Stud Kit

ARP High Tensile Strength Head Studs (with 12 pt nuts)

Melling High Volume Oil Pump with Billet Gears

Refresh Cylinder Heads

Accufab Single Blade Throttle Body

96-98 Cobra Intake

Aric is going to use one of his Teksid blocks to build the motor, and swap with the motor in the Mark when he is done building the motor.

Sounds good Mike. What compression will the motor be?
