Squeaky Steering

Does anyone know what is causing this squeaking in my steering. It's very annoying. When I am driving slowly and turning onto neighborhood streets or turning in drive thru's, it is very loud.

I would have your ball joints checked imediately.

I second the Ball Joint, likely lower one, you are metal on metal, time to fail.

Not the ball joints. New Lower control arms.

Lower Control arm contains the Lower Ball Joint.

He may have meant it is easier and cheaper to purchase the whole arm with joints attached rather than just replace the joints...but I could be wrong.

You need to totally flush your power steering system with Mercon 5. You need to do it several times to totally get rid of the old fluid. Put the front end in the air so that you can turn lock to lock easily with the engine running. I've used a turkey baster to suck the fluid out of the reservoir. Also a good time to inspect your serpentine belt too.
