I POST TOO MUCH!

RE: I POST TOO MUCH!

Thanks for advancing the ball on this Moe. I was looking for additional smilies because the written word can so easily be confused and it will prevent "flaming" and other problems. It will eliminate some of the guessing, 'Is he being a brick or what'? type of thing.

RE: I POST TOO MUCH!

Ahhh, Bryan.... trying to bypass the profanity filter by writing upside down? ;-)

RE: I POST TOO MUCH!

Why, I have no idea what you are talking about. http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I tried it on my 7 year old and it passed with flying colors. Oh, now I see, if you were to turn that b upside down, that word would have a whole new meaning.}>
I'll have to try that next time.:D

P.S. Just keeping it clean while at the same time having a little fun. If anybody finds it objectionable, please PM me and I will modify my behavior for the benefit of the board.:)

Your Very welcome Bryan, and I could not agree more with your point. Plus you can be more creative with Smilies in your post. I just hope it goes underway soon http://www.markviii.org/~badsax/smileys/bouncing1.gif

RE: I POST TOO MUCH!

There is no such thing as posting TOO MUCH. Members here are valued by the number of posts, and ridiculed if not posting. Just pay your dues and POST! POST! POST!

Wow. That's harsh. I didn't realize we were ridiculing people who don't post. We got rid of the names, which were initially set up as a little humor, definitely not to hurt feelings.

But Owl, we appreciate your post, too. :)

Oh, and thanks to all who pay their dues, too. It's not required to be here (well, it is in the members forum), but it certainly is appreciated, and hopefully you who have joined the club have felt it's a worthwhile investment.

RE: I POST TOO MUCH!

Sharon, the club is absolutely a worthwhile investment. I joined and paid dues the same day I bought my Mark. I come here for the great knowledge shared. Anything worth saving (and everything 'Driller' says is worth saving) I print and punch and put in my notebook. I'll use all that knowledge someday. I've gotten discount from Max, and benefitted far more than my dues cost.

You said 'We've gotten rid of the names' but I'll bet it says 'Newbie 4 posts' next to my name. You have been a 'member' here since March 20 and I have been here two weeks less (I tried to get in here earlier but didn't understand that I had to register again). You have 687 posts and I now have 4. Based on two weeks longer time here, you are identified differently than I am. I haven't the technical knowledge to offer much here, but I do appreciate what I get from being here. I won't have many posts. Certainly not when I have to post frequently hoping someday to be a freshman. If my memory serves . . . I was a freshman in college 45 years ago. And I did graduate. The kids call this 'dissing'.

RE: I POST TOO MUCH!

OK, fair enough. We had talked about changing those names, and it hasn't happened yet, but we STILL want to make mention of how long someone's been here. I have a ton of posts in part because I talk a lot, and in part because there was a lot of testing to be done prior to the site opening. So to me, the post count is meaningless, as a lot of my posts were "testing", etc.

Let's see what we can do about the designations. I would like to think that number of posts is not relevant, I just recently got to meet a member here who doesn't post much, but I am so glad I met him and he has a bunch of knowledge to share and a real friendly personality too. Some of us talk, some of us listen, and some of us just lurk, but we still have the bestest cars around. ;-)

RE: I POST TOO MUCH!

I refuse to join this dumb club unless Sharon makes it worth my while.
