O Lord, help me to be pure, but not yet.
Saint Augustine (354 AD - 430 AD)

RE: Quote For The Day

I remember reading Saint Augustine's "Confessions" while in college. His writings taught many students in my class that it is best to have a good time before becoming a saint.

and they all lived happily ever after.

Actually the Santa Maria ran aground and sank on Christmas Eve 1492 off of Hispaniola . Some say it sank because of mullusks called shipworms which eat through wood. The Pinta made it home from the first voyage of Columbus, but it is then lost to history. The Nina, Columbus's favorite ship, survived until at least 1501. The ship was used by Columbus for at least 25,000 miles. Reportedly Columbus religiously changed the oil every 3000 miles and only used premium fuel. TE tells me that Columbus chose the western route to the Americas because the eastern route at the time only had Citgo stations.
