He was one of my favorites, too. I heard it also yesterday on the news, and was saddened. I had heard of the stroke back on May 1. He was pretty sick, for quite a while.
I have most all of his records, and do play them. "Back in the day" I was really big time into Disco, and worked Sunday afternoons as a DJ in a local tap room. Everytime you'd put on a Barry White or a Gloria Gaynor record the place would reach a slightly higher frenzy.
'Ya, it's too bad about Barry White. Good guy, great writer, performer & singer. I have a very rare record of his, released under the name of Barry Carter....his REAL last name!
