Hey guys,
Well it looks like its heating up around here. We have been getting about three mortar attacks a day on the compound. Don't worry too much, the compound is very large. Plus we have concrete bunkers we can go to. I will be heading down to Baghdad on Friday and will probably be there for about a month. I will be working for a totally different outfit there. I will be working for ORHA (Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance). That is the group which the US put in charge to rebuild the country. I will be given a pass to the palace so I will have dining and laundry facilities :). I will also be given a Suburban to drive. Cool, huh? I'm not really sure what my duties will be yet, Whatever they are it will definately be a good experience. I'm also wondering w
hat special work God has in store for me. He always has something. Please keep me in prayer about it.
Well, better go. Love you and miss you.
Love,
James

Jack, I know you are proud of Jim. But I also feel sad that he's not home with you. I pray for his safe return. You gotta really miss that guy.

I will also say a prayer for your son Jack. Thanks for sharing such a personal letter with us. I captured the above quote to point out that we are there for a much better purpose than we hear from the major media outlets. We are a much more 'caring and generous' people in America than we are portrayed to be. Stories like this are not reported on enough.

I am glad to hear your son is doing fine Jack and hope you get to see him very soon.

Yeah..I sucks he's not at home. But glad he's safe. He better have his sun screen lotion on..I hear the summer there is brutal...getting up to 130-140 often!!

Jack, A host of prayers from my family to yours. After spending 20 years in the Navy, I sure missed being aboard one of those aircraft carriers that was in the area. (I did my stint in the Gulf of Tonkin) Hopefully your son will be home soon....but it's never soon enough!

Thank him for his commitment to our country.....fair winds and following seas.
