RE: More members?
Lincolns of Distinction
Mark VIII Club
Our Mission: This club was founded August 9, 1999 for those interested in Lincoln’s personal luxury sport coupe, the Mark VIII. We hope you will join our club. By joining this club, we can show manufacturers that there is a group of dedicated enthusiasts who love to restore, modify and customize the Mark VIII. We hope manufacturers respond by continuing to make parts that enhance our car such as superchargers and custom body parts.
Membership: We have over 350 members so far, and expect the membership to at least double in the next year. We have members in nearly every state, many in Canada, and some in the Netherlands, Germany, Iceland and Sweden. The membership fee is twenty dollars per year.
Events: We’ll have several events around the country in the coming year. The biggest annual event is the All-Ford Carlisle in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Our club will have its own tent and we had 29 Mark VIII’s last year. There will be separate trophies for the Mark VIII’s. Details are posted on the Events page of our web site.
Some members participate in the Southern Super Heavy Shootout drag race event. It will be the Impalla SS vs. the Lincoln Marks. Don’t miss this! Imagine Mark VIII’s with superchargers wailing and tire smoke billowing!
The Michigan/Canadian chapter of the club is considering adopting the 93 Mark VIII that set a two way average at Bonneville at 181+ mph. It’s in an automotive museum and needs some TLC.
Benefits: Products & Services - There is a 10% discount offered to dues paying members by Reinhart Automotive, official SuperChip and Vortech Supercharger vendor; by MaxRPM, Lincoln Motorsports performance equipment vendor; by Legendary Cars, makers of custom hoods and bodywork; and by Maplecrest Lincoln/Mercury on all parts which will be shipped to your door. It’s only $20 annually to join our club! You can save a lot more than your dues cost.
Technical Help & Message Board - We can help with any questions. The message board is the largest on the web devoted to the Mark VIII. There are over 4200 registered board users. Mark VIII experts and engineers frequent this forum. All questions are answered here. This is a very valuable asset. Why did it do that? What is that noise? Do you need a part cheap? Check the board! Someone will know the answer.
Newsletter - There is a quarterly newsletter for members.
