Whoa... bad day

sleeper

Former LOD President
Not for me really but seemingly for everyone else. Yesterday, i left work at about quarter to four. It takes me about 20 minutes to get home, more like 30 with construction now. It took an hour and 45 minutes. Huge accident on the highway, they closed it, where the construction zone is. The rest i've got is rumor right now. Last night, my friend Dave (who blew his trans up last night by the way, in his XR7, more reason it was a bad day) said he heard that there was a semi, a saturn, and a grass-spraying truck involved in the accident. This morning, i heard from a friend that my old boss, one of the owners at the pizza place i worked at, was in the accident (he drives, or drove a saturn). Luckily, he survived. Unluckily, he had to get both legs amputated. Now, i don't have verification of this yet, it's still a rumor, but the people spreading it have no reason to lie.

I just got off the phone with another friend. He was on his way home from the bar last night, on my street, a few miles down, and he had a drunk in front and a drunk tailgating. He was driving an old truck, so he was brake-checking the tailgater. The car in front (BMW) pulled ahead. But then he starts seeing dust on the road, a few seconds later. Then there's a whole bunch of dust, and a totally f'ed up BMW, as if it had rolled from high speed (speed limits 45, i've seen people upside down in that particular ditch more than once). He said it appeared as if everyone in the car took off, leaving one girl who had been thrown from the vehicle lying in the ditch, unconscious. The girl wasn't waking up, either. She was barely responding, but still alive. I don't know what happened to her. My friend waited for EMS and the cops to arrive, then got out of there.

People had bad days yesterday...

RE: Whoa... bad day

My alternator died yesterday while I was working (I have a sales job) and my parents got stuck in that mess while bringing me a car to drive. Started working at 10am, and didn't end up getting finished until just past 1am.

Anyone else have a crappy day?

RE: Whoa... bad day

Yes as a matter of fact:

Went to Billings Montana yesterday with wife to do some shopping.
It was very hot, and it seemed that everyone in Billigs was cranky
and in a bad mood.
Had a younger fella in the Walmart parking lot decide he wanted a
chunck of my ass. After he waved his arms and turned red, got out \
of the car, and grabbed our pickup door,(my side) He turned kind of sick looking and retreated to his Hundi, and departed.
I wasnt in a sweet mood either. :)

RE: Whoa... bad day

I ran into a old girlfriend, and woulda' knocked her out if it wasnt for my friends being there with me, I dumped her becase she was dating 3 guys at the same time as me and yesterday she asked me on a date, wtf?, people have no damn courtesy these days and no respect for others. (bah, another reason to hate ex's.....)

Other than that, It was a pretty normal day.

RE: Whoa... bad day

RE: Whoa... bad day

Well, i've had enough people tell me know that i'm sure it isn't a rumor. My boss was involved in the accident. He was sitting in traffic when a semi hit his saturn. You can see the skid marks on the highway still, they're right by the exit to my house. You can still see what looks like oil and/or blood stains on the highway too, pretty eerie. He lost one leg above the knee and one leg below the knee. They have prosthetics good enough now that you can walk on them, but it'll be at least a year before he's at that point. Supposedly the front end of the saturn was a good 30 feet from the rest of the car.

And we replaced Dave's trans (he was with me at Carlisle, so some of you know him) with a junkyard trans, and the car made it three blocks. Then we had to push it back those three blocks. At least we didn't put the exhaust on yet. So i guess it's back to work on that tonight.

RE: Whoa... bad day

Sorry to hear about your boss... that must really suck to live so long with the use of both legs/arms and then in a matter of a few seconds not even have them... even with a prosthetic leg(s) I'm sure its still not the same.

Sounds like fun with the tranny though...even if it doesn't work and costs a lot of money, I would love to be able to do that kinda work on a car.. the most involved work i've done so far is taking the entire front end (body parts only) of my buddies 95 f150 off after his wreck...he didn't have full coverage when he slid on some ice last winter and went through a telephone pole (snapped it right in half) anyway...have fun with that hope to hear some good news on your boss soon! :)

Did you stick a .357 up his nose after he grabbed your door? :) I hate going to Walmart because the ones I go to always seem to be full of scum (parking lot included).

Ever hear the term "white trash?" Well, thats exactly what Wal-Mart is, no offense to anyone here. And, if someone did that to my car, I would infact stick a gun up their nose....... Well maybe not if they did it to my Neon, I hate that car, If it was a Mark, I would calmly beat the crap outta them.
