Whats the Longest you ever drove without insurance?

RE: Whats the Longest you ever drove without insurance?

It is impossible in New York to register a vehicle without insurance. I just bought another 1960 Thunderbird. What is more frustrating is that I have had insurance for about two weeks, and I cannot drive the car because I need to wait for the registration from Albany to be mailed to me. Mail registration is the only way to register a car with vintage plates. This method does not avoid a trip to the DMV. I still had to wait in line in the DMV to pay the sales tax to get a sales tax receipt to send to Albany.

note the low number New York State plates from 1960
