RE: Stolen Rims

Pete,

No doubt the weenies lifted them for their Mustang. They'll be in for a shock when they don't fit. Then they'll sell them to some unsuspecting guy in a Tbird...or maybe they'll sell them back to you!!!

RE: Stolen Rims

ACK!!!!! Hate people messing with my stuff. Hope they try to sell them to a Mustang owner and get their butts kicked when they don't fit.

RE: Stolen Rims

If I were you, I would drive around the neighborhood/local area, maybe some local hotspots for a Mustang club or street racign and see if you can spot someone using your rims, then beat the s*** outta them.

RE: Stolen Rims

Pete,
Your alarm manufacturer doesn't have a warranty against theft? My son put in one of those alarms that sends an audio signal to the house as well as giving you the choice of having it "silent" at the car or LOUD. We caught a few trying to break into his 1969 Turino when he lived here at home. Boy, were they surprised to see the lights come on and the flash from the camera!!

His insurance company replaced the broken side window glass happily.

BTW, how come I am getting the dreaded red X now instead the pic of your 'vette? Ummmm, now I'm not even getting that!! Nor a picture. Is your nitrious web site down?

RE: Stolen Rims

my alarm does have tilt sensors so i doesnt protect againest that... yea my website is down.. it got deleted from the blackout

RE: Stolen Rims

My mark was in front of the house in Memorial day weekend. Sunday night at about 2:45 PM when i hear my alarm go off. Jump my butt outta bed to see a car turning the street already and was gone. I check out the car to find a busted passenger side window. Damn gangbangers. They did'nt steal a thing. took em about 4 good hits to get it open becuase of the tint. But that alarm is another thing. I'ts not sensitive at all ! I would say on the 4th Hit on the window, when it finally broke, it went off !. Horrbile anti-theft alarm I must say. It's all replaced now. Thought about yanking the radio out, so the insurance would pay for a new one ;). Thought too late tho. Police where already there and report was done. ;(

RE: Stolen Rims

IF your really in the mood for scamming the insurance company why don’t you just break your own glass and steal the radio instead of having to wait for someone to do it for you :p

RE: Stolen Rims

Man, that really stinks Pete! I hope your insurance company comes through for you. I know what your feeling, I've had mag.wheels taken and my home burglarized in the past. It's amazing what insurance DOES NOT cover when you file a claim. I learned from the police that I had to have some type of positive identification etched in the wheels for them to be able to prove that they were indeed mine. Insurance didn't pay because they weren't stock and I hadn't added a "rider" to my policy to cover them. Years later I went through the same sort of thing with the burglary. Now I keep everything that needs to be on "riders" current, insured to the max., and a have a 135lb Dobie to augment my alarm systems.
Good luck getting some kind of compensation. Hopefully the cops will find the punks who ripped you off wrapped around a tree.

RE: Stolen Rims

I know how you feel... almost. I had a moped stolen once but got it back. And that wasn't nearly as much money as a set of rims.

I'm planning on buying an alarm with a LCD remote that gets paged whenever the alarm goes off. That way you can disable the alarm at the car and sneak up on the mofo with a shotgun when they're tying to take your stuff. That "click-click" noise is going to scare them a lot more than any alarm i've ever heard of. That's my plan, except i'll probably just use a pistol.

I have 2 12's for my beater that i've been waiting to put in. They came with the beater, and even though they're cheap and i live in a good area, they went in the garage first thing. I tinted out the beater (it's a blazer) and i'm going to put a better alarm on the lincoln and move the old alarm to the blazer to afford them some protection.

Pete
I am sorry to hear about your problem , and you said you had no comp. on the car ... Check Homeowners if happened in the driveway you could be covered under your homeowners policy..
