some places got power back at 10pm, that pic was taken at 11:xx could that be it?

I think someone visits some dirty sites... or at least that is where I saw that pic the first time......

That would have to be the largest ridge of high pressure ever known to man! There are no clouds anywhere! it's highly unlikely that picture is real(imho).

I don't think it's real either, LI isn't blacked out in the shot.

I got it in an e-mail. I agree that it could be fake seeing as there is no cloud cover and because of the other points raised here.

Does this mean I shouldn't believe everything I get in an e-mail? x(

I would say thoses two are real.

I saw that first pic - looked fake to me. See how the blacked-out area is really black? Now look at the unlit parts of Canada, the ground looks blue. And the edges of the blackout zone are too well defined. Smells like a Photoshop job to me.

I was at MGM Grand Casino in Detroit on Saturday, August 16th after the lights came on and such. It was funny, as they already had--hours after the power came out--t-shirts that said "BLACKOUT 2003" and MGM name on it.
