heading to Florida

sleeper

Former LOD President
I'm going down to Florida for the week of thanksgiving. I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon. So if anyone sees a black '97 with rims off of an '89 cougar, on I-75, that's me. I borrowed my friends rims because my tires are bald.

I'll be in Spring Hill, FL. Is anyone on the board in that area? If so, wanna get together for a beer next week?

RE: heading to Florida

Wave as you come near Alabama. Be safe, have fun!

RE: heading to Florida

sleeper,

I'm not close enough to I-75 to meet you, but maybe you could detour to Jacksonville? Reinhart Automotive is here in Orange Park. I'm sure that if you come by you'll see some stuff to write home about. We might even make it to Gainesville Raceway tomorrow night.

It'd be great to meet you.

RE: heading to Florida

Spring hill is not too far from tampa. If you are interested in getting together with some of us, shoot me a message. I will send you my phone number. I am off sun, mon, tues and wed this week.

RE: heading to Florida

im about an hour away from Spring Hill.

We were just gathered at the Track yesterday, but If you have time, we could meet with the guys.

RE: heading to Florida

How about a Spring Hill Hooters meet?? Maybe the Hooters or Wing House in Port Richey is closer for you guys??

Sorry I missed the track Moe, weekday nites are tough for me.

RE: heading to Florida

I am flying back from taipei to Cincinatti tomorrow and will arrive at 9pm. My house is 8 minutes from I75. You will probably be past cinci by that time. If not drop me a PM.

RE: heading to Florida

I think i'm going to be past Cincinatti by then, Joe.

I would be interested in getting together with some of you guys in Florida. I'm going to be leaving this afternoon sometime, shooting for 2 or so. I should be arriving in FL at about 10 am tomorrow.

I'm going to PM some of you guys my cellphone number. If you want to set up a meet or something, or just get together for some beers, give me a call. My phone is a Sprint, it should work down there, but if not just leave a message. I won't have a computer with me so i won't be able to check in on the board or recieve email.

Our plans for the week currently involve sitting around the pool drinking beer, putting around on the boat drinking beer (my dad should have arrived there a few hours ago, and he towed the dinghy down), and drinking beer. I'm sure we're going to be looking for a decent bar to hang out in at some point as well. We'll obviously be occupied on Thursday, but other than that, we're free.

If you see a Mark with old Cougar wheels, honk and wave. I think they make the car look kind of sporty, they look pretty good. The chrome octastars on the rusted out Cougar look a little out of place, but they look good too. I'll make sure i get some pictures before we switch back. At least with these rims i have 245's on the back. BTW, if you're running a smaller diameter tire on the back than the front, shut off the traction control. If you don't, and it activates, WOT will not result in any acceleration whatsoever.

RE: heading to Florida

ill be heading up to Connecticut that week. i was actually considering heading over to detroit afterwards to catch another deftones concert that saturday. who knows.

RE: heading to Florida

Funny you mention your trip to Fla. My daughter and I are currently watching a Disney World Special in HDTV. We are now planning to go there next year. Have a great trip.

RE: heading to Florida

Just got back. Had much fun.

We averaged 20.8 mpg on the way down, going around 80 most of the way, with 4.10's. Overall, for the whole trip, it was right around 20 mpg. We did go a bit faster on the way back though.

We spent last night in Atlanta. We had a hamdog for dinner. Anyone in Atlanta needs to go to Mulligans bar and eat one of these. It's a hot dog wrapped in bacon and ground beef, deep fried, topped with chili, onions, and a fried egg. Then, for desert, we had a twinkie rolled in captain crunch and deep fried. Damn good stuff. Then we went and checked out some local folk dancing. Gotta love fully-nude strip bars that serve alcohol until 4 am.

RE: heading to Florida

leaving for athens today. Leaving in an hour or so. I think i have to go straight through atlanta to get there.

with 4.10s?

RE: heading to Florida

Not too sure if mine are 4.10's. They might be 4.30's. Steve says they're 4.10's, but i coulda sworn that he said a bigger number than that at Carlisle. I made over 20 mpg round-trip, and that was 80 mph on the way down and 90 or so on the way back, plus around-town driving while we were there.

With stock gears i never saw 28, but then again i could never set the cruise at 70 for more than a few minutes without having to get on it.

Dave, i was reffering to TE's post. I was suprised he was getting 28MPG, and I asked if he had 4.10's, because I think its impossible to get 27MPG with 4.10's.
Either he doesnt, or he didnt notice you had 4.10s.
