100% TRUE! Building is WAYYY better and much more fun.

Die cast is one of the things that is single handedly KILLING the plastic model kit market and it's a shame.

RE: Attention Die-cast collectors/fans

It may be kiiling the plastic model industry, but some of the cars I am looking for, dont exist on the plastic car market. A/FX Mustangs, Roadrunner 6-packs, etc. True, building them is alot more enjoyable. I have attempted to build custom cars by using up to 8 different model kits, but lately I have found quality control on plastic builds is gone. They used to be alot better, but now, you are lucky if you get 4 tires in the box.(true story-got a model that had 5 rims, and 3 tires)

They are comming out with more dicast kits you can build now. I just picked up Chevelle kit on sale at KB Toys for $11.

RE: Attention Die-cast collectors/fans

I recently picked up and assembled a 1/18 die-cast kit of the Pantera in a local toy store. 'Really came out nice! And on sale for $10! 'Has full detailed engine, working doors, steering hood, etc. I really don't know how they can produce these things so inexpensively, especially with all the detail.

This place - www.exoticar.com - has tons of great cars. I also get their mail catalog, and have ordered a few cars from them.

Modelmaxx is another good one for diecast cars, and I think they price-match other companies. Really nice people to work with.
