True Telephone Story

An elderly lady with a dog called Verizon to say that her telephone
failed to ring when her friends called; and that on the few occasions
when it did
ring her dog always barked before the phone rang. The telephone repairman
proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic dog or senile
elderly lady.

He climbed a nearby telephone pole, hooked in his test set, and dialed
the subscriber's house. The phone didn't ring but the dog barked loudly and
then the telephone did ring.

Climbing down from the pole, the telephone repairman found:

1© The dog was tied to the telephone system's ground post via an iron
chain and collar.

2© The dog was receiving 90 volts of signaling current when the phone
number was called.

3© After several such jolts, the dog would start barking and urinate on
the ground.

4© The wet ground would complete the circuit and the phone would ring.

Which shows you that some problems can be fixed by just pissing on them

RE: Phone problem

Pee can't conduct electricty "in flight". It's actually a series of non connected droplets.

Sorry. Nice story though...

RE: Phone problem

Perhaps the dog was standing on the wet ground.

Edit: When the local stupid neighborhood kid urinated on the lawnmower spark plug he got shocked through the stream of urine. He did win the bet for $5 though. Disclaimer: I had nothing to do with this.

RE: Phone problem

OK, I know this was all a joke and I'm probably dragging it out but I don't think it is possible to get shocked "through the stream of urine". Have you guys ever watched myth busters? I believe the myth about the guy being electricuted by urinating on the third rail was deemed to be untrue. I know that packs a lot more punch then a spark plug or telephone wires.

RE: Phone problem

I think it depends on how long your stream is!

RE: Phone problem

I don't know if this is relevant but the third rail is AC I think and the spark plug is DC. The kids Mother told me about it and said his penis swelled up and their doctor said he might be sterile. Of course she might have been lying to me. You know how women are. Anything to have a good reason to talk about penis enlargment. LOL!
