RE: Chicago Autoshow pics.

As far as cars for everyday use; I'm a big fan of the new Bonnevile GXP with 275hp and of course the GTO. Steup up a bit and I like the Caddy CTS-V with 400HP. Dream car is definitely the Saleen S7!!

Pontiac man now. lol
I really liked the CTS-V also, the power and looks are great and more exciting than anything Lincoln has coming out. The G35 coupe is really nice too. :D

Nice pictures! How did you get pictures without a bunch of people in them? I went the first Saturday and it was packed. Did ya sip some wine at the Maserati/Ferrari display? I didn't feel like waiting in line, I bet there was over 100 people waiting in line to get in that display. The Mark X did look really nice, especially the interior. The Mark LT truck with the ivory interior was pretty cool. Bet not too many farmers will order that one. What did you think of the new Chrysler 300?

Great pictures! Has anyone heard an asking price on the new Lincoln truck( Mark LT )?

It was difficult taking pictures before someone walked in front of me. People are either ignorant or don't care that they are ruining your shot. How can you not notice someone holding a camera right in front of your face? I really got mad at one guy but with a digital camera, I can just delete and retake it, so its not that serious.
I missed the Chrysler section because I had to leave. I really wanted to check out the Magnum wagon. From the pictures I've seen, the 300 looks OK and I like that its RWD. What do you think?

Glad you fellas enjoyed the pics. :)

RE: Chicago Autoshow pics.

You are right about taking pics there. The only reliable way to get people to stop was to have my girl stand by the car :)

The Magnum and 300 are different. It will be interesting to see if they sell. I think you get a lot for your money with both cars when you option them out with the Hemi.

RE: Chicago Autoshow pics.

I sat in both Chryslers....The Magnum was DARK on the inside. Like a cavern! :) It was so dark, in fact, that the reps from the company put 2 of those fluorescent light bars in it so you could see better. No joke.

The CTS-V is a DOG. In this month's issue it only ran 13.7 in the 1/4 mile. That's it. Wheel hop is terrible, also.

I would not even consider the GTO. It cannot be had with a sun/moonroof. Apart from that, it looks like a bloated Cavalier.

I like the Fords a bit...but again..I am SOOOO bored of the whole retro thing. The Ford 500 would look better without a chrome grill.

The Lincoln Mark concept was just awful. AWFUL. It's beyond me how anyone could like it.

RE: Chicago Autoshow pics.

That 13.7 out of the CTS V is a product of the launch. It was running 107 at the end of the quarter, that indicates to me that with traction and some rear suspension work to take care of that wheel hop, it'll be a monster. They also wussed out on it around the racetrack because of a bad oil temp sender, and it still beat the M5. The driver said it probably had enough there to beat the M3 too, if he took it to redline (they kept it under 5k because they thought the oil was getting hot, turns out caddy has an early-production oil temp sender problem). Considering the price, that's still an excellent buy. Something has to be done about the wheel hop though.

RE: Chicago Autoshow pics.

There was a problem with the CTS-V. The car will run very low 13's when it is ready to roll.

I feel ya on the sunroof thing with the GTO, but overall I think it's a good car for the money. I've seen the body kit that is available through dealers; it helps the car out tremendously.

The Ford stuff was not my cup of tea. I do like the GT and Cobra; and the Mustang is a great bang for the buck car.

RE: Chicago Autoshow pics.

Dave,

They also have to do something about the horrible looks of the CTS. There was NOTHING wrong with the CTS. They just thought something was wrong with it! Bad warning light apparently. But the wheel hop is indeed very bad. Not that it matters. I could never drive anything so fugly. I also have heard dealers are price gouging on the CTS-V already...even before they have the car.

RE: Chicago Autoshow pics.

They didn't push the car hard due to SOMETHING being wrong with the temp sender If you think it's going to run 13.7's that's your deal; but with 400hp on tap it will be quick; quicker than 13.7 As far as the look; it grew on me, it's not for everyone, but that's why we all have opinions.

RE: Chicago Autoshow pics.

The look of the CTS grew on me too, but I really warmed up to it in CTS-V trim. I think it looks awesome and the fact that Cadillac would build such a car while Lincoln is making a pretty F-150 speaks for itself.

You just said it all...
