This dude is BAD!

RE: This dude is BAD!

God, Ron, I would love to see that man in a, ah, certain type of "entertainment" film, if you know what I mean. ;-)

RE: This dude is BAD!

It's always amazing when looking at these events and seeing the preparedness that people can accomplish. I am 20 and an amateur boxer in phila pa and am fair at what I do(Golden Gloves champ 01'). There are some people that I train with that really can only be described as being incredible. The power that these fighters hit with is purely incomprehensible unless you have experienced it before. Think back when two guys saw Mike Tyson on a street in New York and went after him; one of the guys hit him and Tyson backed off and tried to ward them off, then they both tried to go after him and with his first hit Tyson fractured the one guys cheek bone and with the next hit he broke the other guys palette. Can you imagine taking a hit like that, the power delivered in one of those punches! These guys are heavyweights too, most of these K-1, Ultimate Fighter, and other org figthers are huge(5'10' plus and around 190-225 is the average weight and height of some of these fighters)When I am around my friends at the local gym and see them take a couple hits at the bag, these are big guys too, its like wow what happened lol! I am 6ft 145lbs and they are amazed when they watch me take some numbers at the bag.(not to gloat but just re-tellin their reaction) It's all about condition and being used to it. Some moves that we can sit back and criticize and say he should have pivoted here or done this lol are practiced and performed that way to accentuate and maximize a fighters strenghts and hide their weaknesses. For example, when I (rh) right hook I step in a way that most would criticize but do so to counter a weakness and keep balance in case an oncoming hit. Some things from afar may appear to be flawed, but when looked at closely it is revealed that they are not flaws rather time practiced finely tuned manuveurs. As I always relate to people think of a bar fight that you saw or think of the time you were watching Cops and saw two guys rolling in the street; these are average guys, untrained, and un-conditioned. You can tell because if it was a prepared and conditioned fighter there would be no rolling on the ground, the fight would have been over within a few swift moves. Like other people that have posted, the only way to truly know what you can do and take is to practice it and the only real way to practice it is to have a really good friend who practices and go at it lol. Literally though, you just gotta go at it with all you got(of coure knowing/setting limits and realizing that you are doing this and your friend is doing this to better each others performance) Me and my one friend(that spent a year and a half in Vegas as a K-1 fighter-he's 5'7' around 240lbs) would go at it all the time, usually wore 6oz hand gloves, went with no gloves a few times, and man that really tests your skills outside the ring. I really give anyone that gets down and into it alot of credit, boxing is one end of the stick and this is definitely a total other end! When I won the Golden Gloves competition I was pretty confident, but man after a couple bouts out on his front lawn with the hand gloves on(and the cops showing up a few times from worried neighbors) I really grew a different respect and appreciation for some of these different forms of fighting.
