Under a new [Florida] state law, DMV has the right to sell and distribute your personal information on file (DOB, Address, etc). However the law also requires that DMV give individuals the opportunity to block their information (Driver Privacy Protection Act) from being sold. You can go to the DMV web site and block your information.
To block your info, go to:
https://www2.hsmv.state.fl.us/dlstatus.html
Enter your Driver License #, then it will display weather your information is blocked or otherwise. If it is not, you can request it to be blocked by clicking the link, and entering your DOB for verification.
