I've made a trip to Death Valley Ca. Its an amazing place. You feel like you're in another country or maybe even planet in some places.

Trip stats
Miles driven 1524
MPG 22.7 ::nono::
Lessons learned:
My mk8 is not offroad capable. ::roll::

There are some amazing places like a salt lake, sand dunes, 11,000 ft mountains as well as elevations below sea level all in one fairly small area.
My mark has performed pretty well on the trip,

I can't post the pics so i guess i'll just post the link. (maybe someone would be nice enough to post them for me ;).

If you guys think gas prices are high wherever you are it was $3.19 over there. I got gas at $2.89 what a steal lol. I also stopped in ghost town. One of the best trips i've taken in a while.

Afterwards i stopped by Vegas. But thats a different story. ::wtf::

Great looking pictures, you can upload them using the new attachment feature. Its right below the text box for typing up posts.

I LOVE THOSE SAND DUNES!!!
We used to get the V8 Toyota Land Cruisers (they are the best for this type of off-road) and cruise up and down dunes for hours.. Very fun, even more fun at night… Wouldn’t understand till you try it.

Btw, those pics look very good, esp the one with the sand dunes, looks very pro to me.

Max, truly great photos. You, by the way, look very good as well ! Can you tell, what is/was that old abandoned building, and while there (or passing thru) did you get to see any other people passing thru? Who manned the Shell station?? A person, or all self serve? What was the temperture? How long did you spend there?

Thanks for sharing those with us ;)

Great pics!

That one long, straight road would have been a good candidate for a high-speed run.

RE: Death Valley Trip

To answer some of the questions, I went there last week so it was mid April its still "cold" over there. It was usually around 90 although the last 2 days i was there it was around 100. That place has a fairly odd climate its "mild" from October to April or so, when temperatures are usually below 100 (best time to come and see it), in the winter it rains over there causing flash floods . Well during the summer it can get as hot as 130 degrees .
So I decided I was going to camp out there, overnight not too bad of an idea but for some reason it got really windy especially the last night, felt like the tent was going to take off. I was there for 3 days and 2 nights.
Everything is SELF SERVE!!! lol you'd expect at 3.19 a gallon there would be a concierge serving you cold beverages and such ::roll:: .
Sometimes you don't see people for miles... which is pretty scarry since i was scared my mark was going to break down and I’d be stuck with some kind of insane towing bill. In regards to the abandoned city, it was some kind of mining city, abandoned some time in the 1920s after they closed down the mine around there.
