I'm not suprised it took this long, the Toyota versions of the Lexus lineup have been available in Japan the whole time. I guess they just want to try to cash in on the Lexus name.

What I find funny is the statement that the Japanese prefer imports because they carry more prestige. It seems that no matter where you are, people always think imported is better.

In japan's case, imports are just rare, which is not the case here.
