Bad wreck on my way home from work yesterday

Not me involved, nobody i know. But this guy was driving on the highway and ended up with his car hanging from a bridge over the freeway that he was driving on. Methinks he was going a wee bit faster than the 85-90 they're saying in the story. A camaro passed me at a good buck twenty on that road a couple of days ago. Traffic goes 85 there.

RE: Bad wreck on my way home from work yesterday

"Maher initially survived the crash. Witnesses told police Maher was able to unbuckle himself. He fell between 6 and 8 feet to the ground beneath the dangling wreck. Once he was on the hillside, he collapsed. Police found him lying near I-696 and took him to St. John Hospital in Detroit, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries. Maher's stepfather, Larry Andrews, said Monday night that his stepson was a good person who loved football and his car, which he'd had for about a year. "He definitely loved his Mustang. That was his baby," Andrews said"

He came back from a funeral of his friend??? So thats quite strange since the dude was only 19. And he survived the crash... walked back up there to the freeway and then died.... man that really sucks ::nono::

i don't think he walked anywhere. It sounded to me like he unbuckled himself, fell 8 feet, and didn't move. The way the car was dangling he would have landed on the hillside next to the highway when he fell out. I just wonder if the fall contributed in any way to his death.

I-696 is crazy. Feels like you are on a racetrack or something. Like Dave said, I've seen cars just blast down there...

When I was working as an EMT we responded to a wreak where a car ran off the road and rolled about 100' down the mountain into a stream. The driver got out, climbed up to the road and was talking with people. When he turned his head to the side he collapsed and died on the spot. He had a fractured vertebra in his neck and it severed his spine when he turned. RIP.

Another strange accident

Another strange accident

We have a tall bridge here crossing Tampa Bay called the Sunshine Skyway. Yesterday morning a Chrysler 300 passed a semi at the top and hit the concrete side rail. Then it flipped, landed on it's wheels, spun around, hit the barrier in the middle and came to a stop. Following traffic stopped and they ran to see if the driver was OK. There was no one in the car! There was no one on the road! They looked over the side at the water 190' down and saw nothing unusual. ????? When the Highway Patrol inspected the scene and the car they saw that the seat belt haden't been used and the sunroof was open. They believe the drivers body will be found in the water below. RIP.

RE: Another strange accident

A body washed up on a beach a few miles from the bridge after three days. Fingerprints indicate it's the owner of the Chrysler that wrecked on the bridge. I always wear my seatbelt.
