I had the opportunity to sit in the Draken used in the beer commercials. Its permanent home was at a small field in WI. I just happened to be passing by when they were doing maintenance on it. Very cool...

Oh..and why does your wife have to let you have something? What are you, a wuss or something? I guess we know who's boss in that house...

He did not say your wife need permission to use the phone, he said you need her permission for you to you use it. Are you deaf too or just illiterate? She can see still if you are using the phone, but her site must not be that good if she married you. haha

Thanks for the offer but my buddy from the Blue Angles Agreed to test it for me, since I only have a single engine pilots licence... The FAA said I can rent a hanger at SFO to store my New Toy....I have never been so happy in my life.....I don't believe anyone will try to out bid me...

Well, aparently they cancelled Stanley's bid. I see one bid on there right now, and I am sure that isnt Stanley's username, unless he beats nintendo games with Snap-On hammers, and then tries to sell the damaged game, and the evidence.

oh, and Stanley...good news is...you dont use your knees to fly that toy. So as long as you dont have scop-surgery on your right wrist, you can bring it out to the next;

Oh, and if you need a place to store it, I bought a used aircraft carrier last year on ebay. I have almost finished tinting the windows, and adding new plug wires to it, so it should be readu to go this weekend.

Just watch the landing ok? I'll give you directions...just call me from your jet-phone when you're on your way. that way I have 2-3 supersonic minutes to get on deck and wave you in.

Oh, and I just talked to Tommy...he said we can use his shop if you want to JMOD it, or sensor lower it.

The answer to your question is yes. It can be flown within the United States for just pleasure. However, you are limited to a 80 mile radius with it because it is ex-military from another country. If you wish to go more than 80 miles with it you must file your request with the FAA. This will take about a week minimum (if things are moving quickly (relative for the FAA).) With that request you must give the reason for wanting to take the aircraft that distance, and if they feel that you have a good reason (i.e. airshow) then they will either approve or deny your request.

Furthermore, your fuel comes into play here as well. If your traveling a distance of roughly 200 miles you'll be allright. If your going further than that fuel management comes into play. Most pilots when approved for an extended cross country need a clearance up to the flight levels immedietly after take off. If they can not get that clearance they mine as well stay on the ground. The fuel burn down low on aircraft of that type is rediculous. If you think your mpg in your car is bad, don't ever ever buy one of these aircraft.
