Free alignment

Former LOD President
I just got new tires on my suburban, and took it in for an alignment.

Halfway through the job, i got kicked out of Tuffy for telling the owner to, well, i can't really repeat it, after he told me i couldn't watch the work being done. x( If a man is using a torch on my tie-rod ends, i'm watching.

Anyway, there are only two adjustments for the alignment on a suburban. One is for the toe, it's a sleeve on the tie rod that connects both front wheels. The other is a sleeve on the tie rod that connects the steering box to the drivers side spindle. The guy doing the work started by adjusting the toe, and was working on the other tie rod adjustment when i got booted.

Of course, since the owner was an a-hole, and wouldn't finish the job with me watching, i didn't pay. And i'm pretty sure my toe is set properly. So it's looking like i just got a free alignment!

:) :)

I've seen a blue wrench used on the adjuster sleeves, but not on the tie rod ends. ::wtf::

RE: Free alignment

That's what it was, the adjuster sleeves. No tie rod ends on a suburban. Nonetheless, he was stupid to throw me out for watching from an empty bay.
