Good call. It was a good run for crysler this year. I'm surprised they didn't pick the 05 mustang.

If I needed a family car the Chrysler 300 probably would be it.

You know, I looked at a few 300s and even though I loved the styling, I just can't get past the cheap feel once I'm inside one. Which is odd since you can get one of those pretty loaded out. You know, the best way to describe it is that it's something with the doors... the way the door shuts. It just has a cheap tinny feeling. The other funny thing is that I feel the same way in E class and smaller Benzs. The car just doesn't have a thick enough feel. I looked at a Lincoln LSE and a Hemi 300 and man interior wise the Lincoln would have been worth the extra $10K.

Well, there's my 2¢

That just goes to show if you can get your car out early and push it hard with publicity, you stand a good chance of winning. While the Hemi powered 300 may be a powerful, well-built, and roomy car, I still can’t get by the “Checker Cab” look. It’s amazing how the squared off chiseled look is the “in thing” nowadays.

I could probably enjoy a new 300 if I had Ray Charles vision but I’d have trouble at red lights and stop signs :+

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If it's in English, Thank goodness Chrysler owner's manuals aren't written in German yet....

I'm not thrilled by the exterior, but I like the interior layout. In the test ride, the 300C Hemi moves well, but overall lacked any 'WOW' factor. The colors are blah too.

... the 300C Hemi moves well, ...

Traveling east through IN/OH yesterday, I got to see how well the 300C does move. :)

Cruising along in the F250 PowerStroke at a modest 75 MPH, I was suprised by a quick appearance of headlights in the rear view mirror. I instantly recognized it as the 300, and politely sped up and moved to the right as soon as I was past a group of semi's. The 300C easily overtook me and I figured I'd use him as a 'front door' for a while. I was very soon finding myself frequently hitting the PowerStroke's speed limiter but was able to keep the silver colored touring sedan in view. We were not alone either as a small convoy had joined the chase, including a nice BMW X5 SUV. They were all probably suprised to see a 8000 pound pickup hanging with the pack.

Soon enough, sporadic truck traffic jammed us up and the 300C was no longer to be seen, but I tailed a couple chasers at 80+ MPH for quite a while further. Kinda made up for the bumper to bumper crawl in the construction zone back in Indy. }(

I raced a 300 for a couple miles on the freeway when there was no traffic. I stayed ahead of him until about 125, when he let off. He either got scared or his car started petering out.

A 300 does not = a 300C and can't keep up with a Mark VIII, but I am sure you knew that. A 300 has a V6 under the hood instead of the 300C's V8. Two V6s are available -- a 250-horsepower, 3.5-liter version and a 2.7-liter unit that makes 200 hp.

Yeah I knew that, but my Mark is far from stock. I can take any of them. My power is comparable to the "Hemi" (aren't our engines of a "Hemi" design as well - intake port opposite the exhaust port?), but I am 400 lbs lighter.
