Thanks for reminding me. That video brought tears to my eyes. I tried to imagine that any one of those homes was mine and I was looking at it for the first time after the storm. I pray that those who lost their possessions in this, and other tragedies, can take comfort at there moment of peril in the promise of the Lord.
In the book of Luke, Jesus tells the parable of the Rich Fool. Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?"...
"Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
I am thankful for my possessions, but give them all away to faithfully follow Jesus. I shall not cling to any of this when he calls. I am thankful for the life which God has granted me. I am thankful for the salvation that God has granted me through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. My love for him is greater than my love for any person or thing.
This is my personal viewpoint. If you do not share it, please don't disrespect it.
