People just do not understand, it makes me sad. The worst is how most guys try to act like they know about cars but really don't know anything. At least girls are content with being horrible drivers and not knowing a thing about cars.

I ought to have you sit down and have my GF Brenda explain cam specs, valve timing, alcohol injection in a race application, and then let you watch some of the drag race videos of her driving one of our 10 second Dodge drag car.
sorry, just had to brag about me, being a total car fanatic, finding a girl who shares the same passion(s).

absolutely....buys me tools, helps me work on cars, buys speed parts for cars(and orders the right stuff!)...she is the main reason I enjoy racing so much, as well as why we enjoy our cars...

You guys are bashing on girls, but the average guy doesn't know all that much about cars either. Most people don't know when to service their cars or how to fix the simplest things.

Yup, I mentioned that in my first post. It amazes me how you can know so little about something you depend on every day.

Hey you guys are sailing close to the wind on this one. (lol) Good job there are not many lady members of LOD or I'd think there would be a few feathers flying. Well done Sharon for showing such restraint!! Over here, women get better insurance rates because they are supposed to be safer and have less accidents!! That's not necessarily my view.
I'm quite lucky that my wife does know all about cars, having helped me do anything from transmission changes, engine swaps, welding, painting and most other work, ever since we got married 40 years ago - I was a child bride!!! She doesn't even drive - never wanted to - go figure!!
I agree most people do not know about the mech. side of cars and as long as it's the case, people will continue to get ripped-off.

My sister and I could not be more opposite - she has no interest in cars (or maintenance), and I'm a car nut. I taught her how to drive a stick!
