New Fiberglass fun!

Hi all, as some may know My amp blew over a year ago and I've never had it fixed. I've been itchin to do something so I thought I would scrap to custom door pods for something a little more stock looking (i.e. better looking) Below are a few pics of the final product. I didn't think about any step by step pics, but if anyone wants to know how, it's pretty easy, I could explain further what I did. With no stereo I was unable to aim the speakers properly, so it probably sounds like crap, but oh well, it cost of of $20.00 to do them, it wouldn't hurt to try again. The amp will be sent out in a few weeks for repair by kicker, than I'll probably sell it if anyone is interested.

Pics below!

RE: New Fiberglass fun!

The first set of pods I ever made were bad about gettting in the way. These I designed to make sure the speakers were as far back as possible (i actually cut holes in the back of the pods for the speaker magnats to poke through) The pods completly replaces the stock kick panel. The drivers side is perfect, i can still use the footrest. the passenger side never was great on footroom, but the wife is still happy, so that's a good sign. :)

not bad. still too bulky for my tastes. im looking at incorporating the speakers into the kick panel so it looks like theyre just bulging out. hopefully the aiming wont be too difficult in the jeep since theres no real crazy angles and not much of a dash to deal with. u should think about doing a 3 way set with your 6.5 in the door and working with maybe a 4 or a 3.5 inch speaker. the forums u go to have alot of guys letting go of morel wr4 sets for fractions of what they cost new. i got mine for $90 and last i heard they go for $300 new. not a huge footprint with the tweets.

That is a three way set, 1 inch tweet, 3.5 inch mid and a 6.5 in the door behind the stock panel. I'm pretty happy with the rainbows, there's not too many set's that could steal me away...

oof what the hell was i thinking. so how did u go about making the shape? did u make a copy of the stock kick panel and build on it?
