Hot car

RE: Hot car

Let me see... you have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cars, and no alarm system, and no guards, what year is this again?

If I had a GT on the floor, I WOULD HIRE SOMEONE TO BE THERE 24/7 AT LEAST, ON TOP OF THE ALARM.

RE: Hot car

Insurance is cheaper than a guard.

If the car is in a locked showroom, behind a locked fence, and the key is in a safe, the alarm isn't going to make a whole lot of difference.

Why is that? As soon as someone breaks into the showroom, this can trigger a silent or loud alarm and contact the police.

RE: Hot car

50 cent's car was there? I wonder if he knows his Mustang was "shunned" by the thieves for a new GT.

and as for insurance being cheaper than an alarm....not any more.

a basic alarm system for a dealership's showroom can run as little as $12,000 a year. I am willing to bet their insurance is near 5x that amount.

Ahhhh... but the real question is: Will the insurance premium savings with the alarm exceed the cost of the alarm?

Are you sure you're not off by a zero? That's WAY too much money for a frickin' "basic" alarm. No wonder they don't have one, i wouldn't either, at that price.

And i bet their insurance covers the dealer plates on all the cars as well, and i'm sure theft is not the biggest factor in the cost of that.
