NOR-CAL LOD Prime Rib run was a success!

Well, its official. The second gathering of the NORCAL LOD cruise to the small town of Isleton, Ca. in the Sacramento river delta was a complete success. Thanks to Mrrobertstv for putting together another palatte pleasing, and horsepower craving get together on Oct. 18. We all met up in the late afternoon, took a few pics, and headed east for the delta.
The Prime rib was the best, and the frog legs and crawdads were a perfect compliment to a hardy meal. The view along the way was stunning. If anyone has ever driven through that area at twilight knows what I am talking about. Most of us got rooms at the hotel, and spent the evening on the patio enjoying after dinner cocktails, and watching Stanley make a nice play at the "texas hold-em" table. Mrrobertstv, our LOD Chapter President, presented all of the founding members with this placard, which we all display on the left quarter window as a sign of union:

I havent put my placard on yet. I want to put some extra adhesive so I dont lose it doing a buck 20 on the highway.

Yep, ton of fun. Great chow, too. Have to go back out to that place and get the Mayor to cut me off another hunk...

'Definitely a good time. My GF, (Susan), and I didn't leave until check-out time Sunday, ('watched as much of the NASCAR race as I could). Then we stopped in Rio Vista to visit a friend, and spent most the afternoon cruising the delta on his boat...

I'll have to check to see what I got in pictures. Stanley has some dinner pics, and I took one, (on his camera), of him digging into that 10lb steak he ordered!

Great news my DSL will be back online tomorrow so my Photos will be forth coming!!!!! I still full wait till you see the pic I took of the 10 pound Prime rib I had for dinner!!!

Thanks for the positive feed back everyone! We owe alot of our "claim to fame" to Mrrobertstv. He took it upon himself to stir up the comraderie of our local Mark VIII owners. I personally want to thank two other members for helping me along in my "wide open" enthusiasm. Johnaec, and Avu3. The two of them helped me not only appreciate the fine cars we have purchased, but they also helped me see how there are other owners that are just as "in to" their cars as I am. John, Scott, and Stanley, thanks guys. I knew the Mark VIII was a vehicle to really be proud of, but little did I know it came with fine people like you. Enough hiney-smooching though. Everyone in this community, as well as "the other" site has made this a fun experience, and I look forward to years of friendship/ownership to come.
So.... any members intersted in a NATIONAL GATHERING in Las Vegas next year? 8-10 Marks cruising together is sweet, but it would be epic to have 80-100+! Just food for thought!

What a major undertaking, Las Vegas, sound great Im In, if you don't feel like driving your mark all the way to vegas here is a suggestion... Fly to vegas and have your car shipped it's not as strange as it sounds, I had my other car shipped to San Francisco Via a car carrier...If we reserved a truck just for us it may lower the cost...... the we overtake the strip 100 plus lincolns in vegas it may set a record or something....we will have to wait for the rain season to end before we try it though
