Went to the track tonight. Car is not in optimal shape - had 3/4 tank of gas, my stuff in the car, needs alignment, air filter, and probably new plugs couldn't hurt, and I didn't mess with the tire pressure much, just dropped the backs to 28 after my first run. Temp was a nice 50 degrees.

I made 7 runs. 4 of those were 15.0's., 2 in the 14's and one pitiful 15.17 with a 2.444 60'.

The best:

14.888 at 96.80 MPH
That was with a 2.305 60' time. 1/8 was 9.725.

Best RT: 0.075, worst 0.200

Best 60' was 2.286 and that was on a 15.002 run, at only 95.31 MPH.

People were complaining about traction - and I definitely believe the one lane I made the 14.888 and a 14.9 and the 15.002 runs had better traction.

I'm going to guesstimate that my exhaust cut approx .3 off my times. I won't know for sure til I go again with the car ready to run for all she's worth.

Nope, no crap in the trunk, except the snow brum and my box of detailing essentials.

I should go on a diet though - most girls want to look good in a swimsuit, I just want to cut another tenth off my time at the track. ;-)

No, the kid wussed out and didn't go race with me. I went by myself. I got beat a lot, twice by a lightly modded Regal, although we were close. I took everyone off the line though with those R/T's! :) No one even expressed an interest in my exhaust or my car, but the kid with the Regal did say he was looking at the Marks before he bought his car.

There was a Marauder there, running mid to high 15's. Nice looking car, but I never got to talk to the owner.

You should bring that car back to HRP.
that will give you a good indication of what your car has "picked up".

I "think" you were turning low 15's, at the Lincoln meet right?

Back to the "baseline track" for you!

Hey Tommy! I'd love to head back out there, as that is where I had my best time (which still beats my 14.88). Yeah, I was low 15's except for the 17ish run (remember all the smoke I made? hee hee).

The kid does keep asking when we're going to go back, you guys really took good care of him (and me too). I'll let you know when we can work it out next.

Yeah, he talked us into a Mustang... I was pushing for a Mark or a Crown Vic for him, but we saw this at a dealer and, well... for a quiet kid he's got a way with words. ;-)

we're racing our butts off in the 2004 season, I believe we're entered in something like 74 races????

I tell ya, she's got almost 70K on her, but she runs like a dream.

Yeah, if John doesn't take the Stang to the track soon, I'll get some practice in it and take it up myself. I'm still not good with his clutch, it's not at all like the ones I used to have. No play in it at all.

Is the track open the 25th? I might come up there early and screw around. We could go to the track on the 24/25th.?
