Track times!!!

I finally made it to the track in my Mark. I ran on the factory stock tires with 47,000 miles on them. 1/2 tank of gas, remove the spare tire. Temp was in the low 80's and humid as hell.

Here are my top 3 runs, although all of my runs wer within a tenth of a sec in ET.

R/T .330 .158 .229
60' 2.348 2.376 2.298
1/8 9.939 9.969 9.902
MPH 73.53 73.54 73.32
1/4 15.146 15.177 15.122
MPH 96.65 96.68 96.62

Not too thrilled about my ET's. But the trap speed shows that I am putting down some nice rwhp. I had it dynoed at 238rwhp and 245 rwtq in 2nd gear. My only mods are C&L 80mm MAS, K&N air filter, SCT dyno tune.

I think that with some better weather and better traction, I can get into the mid 14's.

RE: Track times!!!

Glad somebody got to the track lately. ;)

You know, for a Gen2 in hot humid weather, that's not bad times, and those are pretty good trap speeds! :)

RE: Track times!!!

Mid 14's is pretty optimistic with those mods. High 14's maybe.

Not bad runs though, for an essentially stock car.

RE: Track times!!!

I think all things considered that's really good. I'm sure the times would drop in better conditions, and with better tires. But I do love how consistent your car was.

RE: Track times!!!

Hmmm... I would look into replacing the C&L with a Ford mass air meter, I think it might be hurting your 1/8mile times. With those 60 foot times, you should be running 9.6-9.8 easy. You gain 23mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4, which is a lot, shows you have extra mph you are missing in the 1/8th mile.

yea..that's pretty good consistancy..
GET THAT CAR INTO SOME BRACKETS and ENJOY the WINS!

RE: Track times!!!

I had it dyno tuned with the C&L on, so I think I'll keep the C&L.

On my third run, I lined up against a new Nissan 350Z. I hit a good RT and took him off the line. He stayed behind me in my blind spot the whole time down the track. That run I ended running a 15.2 @ 96 and he ran a 15.0 @ 97. Goes to show, it's all about the reaction time.

Needles to say, I'll be at the track again soon.
