Weird virus problem?

First, I have McAfee VirusScan Online and it has served me well. But here's a couple weird things I've found lately. Maybe related, maybe not.

In Outlook Express I recieved a blank email from administration@mark8.org and then this email(from administration@mark8.org ) :

I notice sometimes when you reply with technical help on a thread that you take it right from the factory service manual, I need to find one of these and aquire it. But I was wondering if in your manual if it mentions the Daytime Running Lights on a Canadian model car. I have ordered brand new headlight assemblies for my '93, and when I put them in I would like to Disable the DRL's. I dont like the way they look, thats all. If you could tell me if there is a module and where it is to disconnect it that would be cool, Thanx!

OK, someone sent an email - but where do I reply to? administration@mark8.org ? The only other email I've ever received from administration@mark8.org is PM alerts. Suspicious, I set it aside, scanned for viruses, and found none.

Then today I get this email with a blank 'from address':

Network Associates WebShield SMTP V4.5 MR1a on abtmail detected virus W32/Mydoom.f@MM
in attachment mail.exe from <_________________> and it was Cleaned and
Quarantined.

Immediately alarmed, I scanned for a virus(VirusScan up to date), and find none? My email address for both instances is a relatively 'clean address' as compared to others which are bombarded every day with spam and viruses.

I'm probably getting paranoid. Comments appreciated.

EDIT: Oh, and I've been getting a few 'undeliverable mail' messages associated with this also - and I'm not sending the undeliverable mail.

RE: Weird virus problem?

If some one clicks on the e-mail icon on this message board it goes through the software as a proxy so you e-mail address is not visible to the user and shows up in your in box from: administration@mark8.org, but you should see the reply to e-mail address from the actual sender. Just hit reply and outlook should fill it in.

If you got a blank e-mail my guess would be the sender sent it without typing in a message.

I don't think this is related to your virus.

RE: Weird virus problem?

Thanks Steve. I guess all my emails with attachments where I forgot to attach the attachment should have clued me in.

As far as the 'virus', I found this info for W32/Mydoom.f@MM on Mcafee's site and felt better:

Note: Receiving an email alert stating that the virus came from your email address is not an indication that you are infected as the virus often forges the from address.

...

Do not assume that the sender address is an indication that the sender is infected. Additionally you may receive alert messages from a mail server that you are infected, which may not be the case

http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=description&virus_k=101038

So, it appears I am not infected, but somewhere, someone with my email address on their computer may be.
