Well I'm up and running again, sorta

I just installed the new hard drive and slaved the old one. Now I need to figure out how to transfer the old programs so they will still run from the start menu. IS there a way to do this without reinstalling everything? Is there a way to combine the start menu from my other HD into the current one?

Thanks for all the help in getting me this far. Thank God all my photos are still intact.

I've done this a few times and have not found a way to do what you want. Install the programs and then move the data from the old installation directories. What I hate worse is importing the email.

You would think as often as this happens or as often as people upgrade PCs there would be something to swap it all over. I know, there are a couple of transfer programs available, but they're sloppy and inefficient at best.

What driller said and then copy your profile over.

C:\Documents and Setting\whoever you login as

Also there is software out there that will mirror the drive for you.

Now I'm just plain sick of this computer. Whole thing shut down on me saturday. I think the power supply went bad. I don't remember what size it is, but apparently it can't handle the extra hard drive. grr. djhttp://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/2/web/602000-602999/602027_21.jpg^^^^^^My 3 Babies!!!^^^^^^

That must have been a pretty crappy PSU! Get at least a 300W
