RE: Help me out please

Welcome! :)

My '91 LSC has the same issue with the power door locks. I've yet to tear into it. But I know the passenger side needs a door lock motor. I don't know what the driver's side requires yet, probably the same.

Your battery problem - sounds like you need an alternator.

RE: Help me out please

THX for the reply dude although you didn't answer my first question bout the door locks its cool but about my alternator it's good because my neigbor works on fords all the time and he took off the negative battery terminal and it ran off the alternator so the alternator is good thx for the reply dude please have other people send and post if u can THX

Welcome.

Always start with a new battery.

Our Mark VIIs need a battery such as Motorcraft's BXT-65-850 or Duralast's 65-DL with a minimum of 750 cold cranking amps.

Our batteries at rest should read 12.25 volts or better.

With the engine running, our batteries should read 14.5-15.5 volts.

Alternators and voltage regulators need to be diagnosed with a voltage meter. From what you've described, you have a bad battery.

I don't understand something. When you use your power door locks, you hear a clicking noise. Is the noise coming from the door or from the trunk or from the engine area or where?

Strange.
Let's get a good battery in there first.

Diagnose and correct one problem at a time.

You'll be amazed as to haw many things change on your ride after installing a new battery and then driving the car OVER 15 miles per hour so that your computer acan relearn the car with the proper starting voltage.

Driller ... those are BODIES in your trunk.

RE: Help me out please

Very True but you didn't really answer my question i found this battery online called optima they sell it at auto zone it isn't cheap but it is the kind you were talkn about 750 cold ing amps 12v but my question is if its still made by a diffrent company but has those specifications on it would it work or not:+

RE: Help me out please

If you want cheap - try WalMart.

If you want expensive - try Odyssey drycell batteries.

I forget the MotorCraft P/N, but it will fall in between cheap and expensive. Not bad for OEM quality.

Good(NOT cheap) battery terminals are also a good investment.

John, I thought I had emptied the trunk. ;) :7

RE: Help me out please

Optima is a good battery. Usually used for high-output stereo systems. You won't go wrong with an optima.

Personally i just get the autozone duralast gold battery.

Dude. STICK A NEW BATTERY IN THERE.

Use a Yellow Ultima or a Pink Panther or a Black Russian ... it don't matter as long as it has the minimum specifications listed above. When you've done that, then you'll be able to correctly diagnose everything else. When in doubt, re-read this thread and read http://www.lscclub.org/tech/battery.htm

Ilikethe warranties that these companies are putting out there nowadays. It's cool to be able to prorate a 36 month old battery after 35 months.

Since I'm now on a Broke-Dude-Budget, those $5.00 terminals are looking good. They need regular cleaning but haven't left my car making that dreaded clickclickclick sound :)

RE: Help me out please

Hey got a question for anyone that can respond to this for a 89 lsc mark vii i heard that if you are like racing or something the speed is actually kept in the computer is there anyway u can delete the speed you were going just wondering about that just to know ????

RE: Help me out please

not to be a prick or anything, but using things like periods and multiple paragraphs, maybe a little capitalization here and there, will make your posts easier to read and make you seem more intelligent.

As for your question, 1) don't race, 2) no, you can't "delete" whatever is stored in the computer and 3) your car won't store any info that could be used against you in an accident or anything anyway. it might contain mileage, but even that i doubt. It's only the newer cars that actually store speed and other things that can be used against you in court. '96 and up vehicles can be outfitted with a device to store speed and other data from the OBDII connector, but that is usually only done by parents wishing to keep tabs on their kids.
