Getting close to "crunch time", let's hear your travel plans, ETA, guests, and if you're attending the dinner Saturday night.

I'll be traveling from Charleston SC all day Thursday, arrive in the evening (probably 7 to 8-ish), and leaving out Monday morning. I'm bringing the wife (finally) so my 8-hour ride will be closer to 12 this year (LOL). We'll both be at the banquet and look forward to renewing old friendships and making new ones. There's nothing like being able to put names with faces and somehow they never match up (ha ha).

Things I'll be saying over my four-day Carlisle trip:
...Yes, Dear I'll slow down. No I'm not racing that Chevy. Didn't you "go" at the last stop when I got gas? What do you mean you're hungry, wasn't that Coke and candy bar enough at the last stop? Come on get up, the gates open at 0700 and I need to be there before Alexander. Here take this $20 and go buy you something to drink, I'm not leaving my car. Yes Dear, I know I washed it yesterday but today Geno will be here and I want to whip his butt again this year. Oh my gosh, they're having a bikini contest? Really Sweetheart, that's terrible, I had no idea...ugh Sweetheart, how about you staying here with the car while I go over to the pavillion and ask Steve and JD some "computer" questions? ...

We'll leave at 6:00 on sunday.
I was trying to get a ford taurus and put it in the show. That way it would be a Taurus SHO. LOL

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

I will be getting there on Thursday and leaving Monday in the AM. I will also be going to the banquet.

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

I'm going to drive alone. The wife is staying home, but my daughter will get there late Friday night and will come to the banquet with me. It'll be good for us to have the weekend to hang out together.

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

I'll be heading down there Thursday. I'm bringing a friend, but he has to work until maybe 6 on thursday, and we have a 9 hour drive after that, so we won't be in until very late, or early friday morning. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn, i think, and i'm leaving on monday. I'll be going to the banquet.

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

Driving up after work on Thursday. I will leave out on monday morning.
I am wanting to be at the fairground early on friday morning.
Maybe I can follow Bill H up that morning to the fairgrounds. 7am sound good?

Staying at the Radisson.

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

I think 4 or 5 New England area Marks will be making the 7 hour trip to Carlisle. If all goes as planed we will be stopping in NYC for a short while and then on to Pennsylvania.

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

I'll be there with Hubby and the Kid. Should arrive late Thursday night and leave on Monday morning. We'll be at the banquet, too. And frequently in the hotel bar.

Just don't expect me on the show field early - I like to be fashionably late. ;-) (Actually, if I don't let the kid get his sleep, he's a real PITA)

This year, we really should try to organize a group picture.

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

Frank as far as I know those 4-7 Marks from New England are going to be converging on my house Thursday morning. I won't be taking my car, but I'll be riding with Joe and Amber. We'll be playing musical baggage with our luggage and Joe's musical and beverage equipment. Then like you said we may stop in the city for lunch. However, Joe and I mulled over the idea of skipping NYC and trying the 84w route so as to avoid the city and tolls all together. Where is Joe anyway? I think he's been sleeping for two days straight. =)

Sharon, I'll be at the hotel bar frequently as well.

John, I'm disappointed that i won't get to see your car. I was looking forward to checking out that paint job.

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

I'll be on the show field at 9AM Fri.
I will also be attending the bouquet if Bill splits his fillet mignon
with me.
Safe trip to all

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

John - I haven't spoken to Joe in about a week or so. He needs all the rest he can get especially now that he will be driving you back and forth to Connecticut on Saturday. Talk about a bellman’s holiday!

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

I will be arriving Fri around noon.
Can I get on the fairgrounds with my car at that time ,or is it too late ????
Anyone else leaving from NY/LI around 8-9 AM Friday ?

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

I sure hope y'all take plenty of photos of the long weekend. I for one, would like to see photos of all of you attendees, your Marks, and any other 'Enquirer worthy' action photos. I would like to live vicariously through the digital memories of this year's Carlisle.

Does that sound okay?

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

Dean,

I'm going to take my wife's digital camera, that has a memory card in it that will hold over a 1000 images. I should have lots to show you. I getting antsy about going. I've been trying to come up with a reason to give my wife, so I can take off in the next day or so. Take my time getting there, go visit some friends along the way. I'd leave tonight if I could come up with the right excuse.

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

Reasons for leaving early...

Snowstorm? Nah, wouldn't fly
Sandstorm? Nah.
Tornadoes and T-storms? Maybe.
Heavy, heavy Memorial Day traffic? We're getting warmer.

The best ones I can think of are...

"Honey, if I can cut out a little early, I won't have to spend too much windshield time, therefore allowing me to save my energy for when I get back." ;-)
"Dear, I can stop and take many photos with your camera of nice nature shots to share with you upon my return".
"If I am gone dear, you and your girlfriends can have lots of your girl parties here at the house".

How are those Lee?

RE: If you're attending Carlisle.....check in :)

In my house: "Honey, I'll be out of your hair for an extra week" would be a good enough excuse. :)
