Got myself a Gen II

Sunday I finished negotiating with the owner of a Pristine Silver 98 Mark VIII with only 42792miles. The Car smells/looks NEW, and I am not exaggerating, the seats look new not a single ripple anywhere. I would shoot pictures but my digi-cam broke, and I am getting a new one this weekend. But back to the car. It belonged to an elderly couple who are now too old too drive now (story sound familiar?) It comes ALL RECORDS, including the Original window sticker. The car was garaged all its life and it shows, I am very picky and if I didn’t know any better and someone told me it is 2 years old I would believe it. Not a single door ding on the entire car.

Here is what works on the car,
Cupholders, not broken
Rear Window- Not a SINGLE ripple
Octastars
Both HIDs
Rear Neon
The steering column does what is supposed to without moaning and groaning.

Comparison to my 96
The car drives perfect the steering is nice and light and feels much better than my 96, not a single squeak or rattle. The 98 does feel slower than my chipped 96, and it is MUCH quieter and drives much softer. The 96 stops much better with the cobra brakes. The interior is way better on the 98 many extra features and it looks much more expensive. 96 door panels are a joke, 98 takes care of that. I am definitely a Gen. II guy now.

But of course the car is 8 years old and it does have some downsides.
1 scuff mark on the rear bumper and a small one on the right rear quarter panel.
The AC doesn’t get cold, but the heat and vent work, so I am thinking blend door. The ac compressor was replaced on this car 2 years ago so maybe something else went wrong. This knocked $800 off the asking price alone.

Owners wanted $8500, I am picking it up in 2 hours for $7000, to me this is the best bargain I’ve had so far with any of my cars. The T-Bird was nice for 4500, but this car’s condition is showroom and the owners didn’t smoke.

Thanks Craig for sending this add to me couldn’t have done it without you.

Here are some pics from the owner, but they are really low quality.

RE: Got myself a Gen II

Congrats. :)

So now I see you're another Gen2 convert. Good luck with your new ride!

RE: Got myself a Gen II

nice, told you 2nd gens rule. you may want to upgrade the sway bars too. The 2nd gens are detuned when the car shifts, so getting it chiped will fix that.

RE: Got myself a Gen II

Very, very nice ride. Yeah, gen 2's have a very nice interior, even by today's standards (8-9 Years later that is.)

The car just needs a nice tint, a chip, and lowering.

RE: Got myself a Gen II

Thanks for the compliments guys. Yea I love that silver color, I wanted an LSC with moonroof, but I couldn't pass this one up. Right after I saw it, I knew I would buy it. Lots of mods to come I hope.
