Well guys I have sold my Mark VIII for a 2002 Jetta GLS with 1.8 turbo.

I have some things I bought for the Mark that I never installed and I don't know what they are worth, but just throw some numbers at me - everything is brand new.

I have a bauman shift kit and all the tranny upgrades for 1st and 2nd gear and the larger tranny pan.

I also have most of the stereo - there is a:
Pioneer DEH-P940MP head unit.
2 MTX amps one is 75 X 4 and the other is 180 X 1. They are already on the rear bridge from a Mark VIII - it should automatically connect to your car.
1 10" bazooka tube with a rockford fosgate woofer.

Please let me know if you would like anything - just make me an offer I can not refuse!

Eric - I had to do it man! The Mark was getting ready to go. It had some weird tranny issues and the suspension was leaking so I had a number in my head and went to the local VW dealer. I got my way.

Trixie - I really hated to do it but I felt it was time. I will look into what the shift kit goes for and then I will discount it for you.

Oh well, maybe someone else will pick it up for a song and enter the Mark VIII underworld. ::roll::

Sharon, shift kits go for like 2 grand now, you can't afford these things. }( But maybe he'll make you a good deal. ;)

I may be interested in the stereo equipment. Any info on that stuff? I have the stock JBL setup in my '93 with a factory 10 disc changer. If it's just plug and play I may consider the whole package. I assume you let the speakers go with the car, or did you use the factory speakers? :9

Trixie - don't listen to him, I think I paid $125 for it but not sure.

John - you will need to rewire your car. It does not plug right into the factory wiring, but I do have the wires. I have 3 sets of rcas for front channel, rear and sub. The radio has a 10 band eq built in and crossover 60, 80 and 120hz for the sub. The cd portion plays mp3s, you can get like 100 songs on one disc. I had infinity kappa 5x7 in the car with stock tweeters, sounded pretty good, but the speakers are gone.

What you will have to do is run the rca's, remote turn on down pass side to the trunk. Then run power down the drivers side to the trunk. Then find a ground in the trunk. Then run speaker wires to each speaker. (That's the fun part - yeah right!) It took me 2 days to install this system and modify the bridge in the trunk and 2 hours to take it all out. DANG! Let me know what you want to do - they aren't going anywhere!

That's what I was afraid of. I was hopin' maybe getting by running just the power wires for the amps or something.

I dunno, I think I'll pass for now. :(

What is a foci? I have to admit the Jetta is a pretty solid car for its size. I am still getting use to its size and its gearing. This car just wants to go. I have been fooling around with the tiptronic too and 1 - 3 gears shift right away! Sometimes I an not ready for it and once the turbo spools (which is almost instant) I find myself having to hang on - LOL! This little 4 cyl has a 145mph top speed - unbelievable right! It is a fun car to drive - I barley even listen to the radio anymore, I just listen to the car.

Well, the reason I have not responded is beacuse all audio equip might be sold. I am waiting for someone else to get back to me. The head unit it $800 msrp and I paid $500 for it. I would probably let it got for $350? What do you think?

As for the class d amp, I would be looking for $180 - what do you think?

Say it ain't so!! Not trying to belittle the VW at all, but if you had asked everyone on here to guess your new vehicle, I don't think a Jetta would be in the first one hundred replys. I hope you hang around and let us know how it goes ( and to let us know, over the coming months, just how much you really, really wish you still had the Mark ) ;)
