I have a Flaming river rag joing that is ready use This is a necessary piece to use when installing headers into a mark VIII. It already has the DD steering shaft drilled and installed and is ready to bolt on.

Shaft alone costs 70$ from summit or jegs. I will sell it for $60. it is a nice piece.

better steering feel than the stock rag joint too.

Alright, I've got dibs on the steering rag joint. I'm contacting you now, Joe. (pm)

okay, it's sold, but how many header tubes would require "relocation" with it in versus the stock rag joint?

The steering joint interfers with conventional mustang cobra headers. I believe one primary needs considerable redirection to get around the stock joint. The Flaming River custom billet joint has a much narrower circumference, allowing much more wiggle room to get the primary around it.

I don't think that's the only issue.

the headers i have are BBK's modified (poorly) by Chris. It appears that two of the primaries were moved (one bent and kinked) to "clear" the steering joint. there was probably room in there to use a rag joint but one of the primaries hit the steering shaft anyway. $200 or so in modifications later they fit. So i'd say at least two primaries on the drivers side, maybe 3, were modified.

I believe the flanges on the ends of the headers were still "clocked" 90 degrees to clear the trans, and on the drivers side i still had to modify the floorboard somewhat to make it fit.

Long tubes suck, installation wise, and i'd probably have to pull them to get the tranny out. Get the mid-lengths from kooks.
