Whacked a doe in my truck going about 75MPH. Lesson learned....Never BEEP your Horn! He ran to the left and back right accross road, by that time i was slamming the ABS hard and only hit him like 20MPH or so. I am VERY surprised when i pulled over and saw that the front radiator wasnt smashed in and bumper had no dents. It's just cosmetics and plastic that is in a million pieces.
So i picked them all up and brought them all back to the garage and heard my Lincoln snicker when i pulled into the garage next to it. lol
Thank God i wasnt driving that, the deer would of been through the windshield.

I need a Whole new grille Chevy emblem, and lights assembly front clip for my truck now. I superglued it back together enough to hold the headlights and blinkers, but it looks horrible.
We got any hookups on the board for dealer new GM parts? 1998 Chevy 1500 P/U.

Last night on way home, i counted 15 deer just grazing on side of road.

Glad to hear that you and your Lincoln are OK.:)

They can be very dangerous.

I saw 8 deer in my yard last week. Unfortunatley, there's no deer hunting in my area, but we need it too.

Lots of deer here too.
I’ve heard don't honk and turn off your high beams. I'm not sure I believe either. They are very scared and unpredictable.

I’ve hit 3 in the last 20 years,
1960 Porsche 356 (broken headlight, could have been bad if she had another step or two I would have had a doe in my lap)
1957 Chevy truck (Most damage by far, to the truck and the deer. Heavy vehicle, takes a while to slow)
1984 T-Bird (Broken Grill)

And I had 1 hit me

1986 Volks. GTI
The Buck ran into the driver side door. (no damage, but startled me the most! him too I guess.)

I've seen so many Deer on the tolll roads such as 528, and 417... and the florida turnpike its not even funny anymore.... kinda scary when your going 80Mph, and you see a half dozen of deer hanging out 10 feet from the pavment.

Are they in the median strip....if so, stop and watch 'em run into the opposite lanes of traffic.....scary. If you ever see a car stopping in that other set of lanes, be very, very ready to stop.

Yeah ive been told by hunters at work to not reduce speed, or blow horn. Keep you accelleraton at constant speed. Its the change in noise that freaks them out. If you slow, you sound diminishes and they get ready to bolt. Or if you speed up same. haha and my dumass blows the horn. hahahhahaha Now he tells me.
Also those cheap deer whistles plastic you stick on your bumper work. Had them on my old silverado truck in Upstate NY. and never once hit a deer. They send out a high pitched whislte with wind running through them. Just moutn them inside your grille so they dont look stupid on car. Wish i had a set on the truck. hehe

Ill get a set for the lincoln and truck as soon as i get around to it.
All my bob vila projects are done now so i finally have my weekends to myself now. Time to start tearing into the Lincoln and get that supercharger put in.
Been sitting there in box since i got it. haha Been working on my old place to sell it. All done now and soon to be on market.

It's easier to get a deer driving down the highway than it is sitting in a tree stand with a rifle.

That happened to a friend of mine. On his way home from unsuccessful hunting, he hit a deer with his Tempo. Luckily he didn't do too much damage to his car, and brought home a tasty deer.:D
