I will be leaving shortly taking the Blue Flame to meet up with the Hot Rod Power Tour. :D

It will be in Evansville, IN tomorrow(June 6) and we will depart for Memphis, TN Thursday morning(June 7). I will be joining some Lincoln Lunatics for the final legs of the cross-country tour. After Memphis, it's off to Little Rock, AR on Friday June 8. We plan to return to Memphis for Saturday and return home Sunday.

The weather looks good, although likely hotter than what I am used to this time of year. Mrs. Driller will be along for the ride and this will be our "vacation time". This will be my first jaunt on the event and we look forward to having a good time.

Wish us luck, I'll check in when I can and I'll take lots of pics along the way. ;)

Sounds like fun JP.

As you know, I met three of the tourers on the way home from Carlisle. Great guys.

Here's the photos of the cars:

Have lots of fun! Safe travels!

You may see a friend of ours who's doing the tour this week - the guy that came down to WFC10 in the black Gen1 Lightning. His name is Scott

Day one...

Late start... didn't leave home until 3:30 PM. Drove about 7 hours to about an hour east of Evansville.

Literally 2 miles from the exit for the hotel, the car didn't seem right for some reason. The lights seemed not as bright, the air changed temperatures and then I noticed it took more steering effort. Quick check of the gauges showed nothing abnormal and the engine temp was just fine. Feeling something was up, I reached in the console and plucked out the digital voltmeter that plugs into the lighter socket and plugged it in. It showed 11.1 volts! I shut down all non-essential electrical drains and managed to get to the hotel parking lot. Yep, I have a real good idea what the issue is by now and a quick peek under the hood confirms it, the serpentine belt has shredded itself.

Oh, I have a spare I always carry. That's no issue, I just wonder what the cause was. Oh well, it will wait 'til daylight.

It turned out the tensioner pulley had puked itself. Strange, the bearing was fine but had spun in the bling-bling polished aluminum pulley. The idler pulley was fine but I decided to replace both.

Getting the tools from the trunk, I took the cooler out and set it on the curb to drain. I had the pulleys removed and the belt shreds out in less than 5 minutes. I went up to the room to get a local parts store phone number from the phone book. When I returned to the car - my cooler was gone! Arggggghhh... I hate thieves!

I had the local NAPA store deliver me a belt and 2 pulleys. A few minutes later it is all back together and ready for the tour. :)

Now I just need to stop somewhere and pick up a cooler. :(

FK'N jerks man.....seriously. If I seen someone stealing my cooler...they would have to get cosmetic surgery.

I successfully hooked up with the tour today and it's been a long one. Met up with some other Lincoln owners, seen many fine cars and look forward to my first leg of the tour tommorrow.

It's late and I have to get an early start for the morning, so the attached pics are all I have to post for now. :)

Looks like someone forgot how to set the time/date on their camera....or they were old photos!! LOL. Great shots. What state is the speed limit 90miles an hour???? Or was that sitting still - burnout???

I think he must have gone thru some kind of time warp back to 2003. I'll bet if he keeps it up he'll have a brand new Mark Vlll before the tour is over. Then see who has braggen rights!!!! LOL
