this is my buddy matt's jet boat. since he bought it he has built a mild 468 chevy big block, repainted the boat and had custom front seats made for it. this boat used to look like it was from the 80's, it was brown and had gold flake stripes all over it. its now 90's corvette quasar blue and silver two tone. this thing is rediculously loud. it scares everyone on the lake when he fires it up. he gets alot of thumbs up on lake tarpon, and alot of evil looks too from the old guys out there fishing. it is very obnoxious, but awesome too!! i tried recording a video of it running but it totally killed the mic in my camera, i was standing way too close but i'll link up the video anyway. he's had it up to 80 mph but says if he pushes it anymore it goes airborn and thats when things get scary, and your shorts end up with a suprise in them!!!

I believe he said 80mph in his post...

Wow I wouldn't take it over 50mph for sure... imagine hitting the water that fast!!!

Vid plays just fine for me.

That thing is sick!! Need to get some of the Jack Ass crew to water ski behind it!! LOL

lol there ya go, although you wouldnt see them though, that boat shoots like a 70 foot roost behind the boat and its about 30 feet high. his brother tried to race him with his jet boat and matt cut in front of him and gave him a bath he'll never forget!!!!

I know from experience, hitting the water at 60 mph hurts like hell! :D

80 mph would likely do pemanent damage.

I've skied (on my wood Connelly slalom ski) at 65 mph, behind a Hydrostream outboard boat before. The water hitting the ski was like concrete.

When I let go of the rope, it seemed like I skied a quarter mile by myself. I was too afraid to fall.:D

I've never skied behind a jet boat, they aren't too good for skiing.

Max, my jet boat does about 50mph...NOT scary at all, very smooth. :D I'm sure that boat sounds like my car with the cutouts open, just 5 times louder!

Not to sound like a douche, but WTF was he running it for 30 seconds with NO water?! I'm sure he knows what he's doing(kinda) but seriously....one rev of the engine gets they cylinders SUPER hot, expecially with no water. I'm sure he was looking at the temp guage(which has NO water running to it, lol) and didn't see it rise too much. To each his own....

The only downfall about our boat is that it doesn't have a Jetavator :( I want to be able to do rooster tails, haha.

Time to hi J ack! :D

jesse my buddy matt has been building engines ever since he was a little girl, he knows what he is doing, he didnt hurt that motor at all, the motor had just been running before i took the video with his hose hooked to it because we had it running to get the oil hot so i could suck it out of the dip stick tube with a pump i had from my old boat, the motor still had water in it, maybe not for the whole time it ran in the video, but it didnt hurt it. all he does is engine and head machining and building, says it all on the back window of the suburban lol, HPS Cylinder Heads.

Gotcha....like I said I wasn't trying to be a douche. :D

Lol, "little girl"!

Well, its good that he started it than, gets all the water/condensation out of the block so it doesn't rust! :)

Yeah, we keep it in the basement. Lol, no its in the back yard....under a cover. :D
