Farewell Jeep - Welcome R/T

It was time for the Jeep to say byebye. It is getting very close to completion with the Mark's S/C build, and I had some concerns about giving the Jeep to my 16 year old daughter. Since I committed the Jeep to her, I wanted to replace it with something that is safe, better fuel economy, etc.

I purchased the Jeep last fall when I decided to take the Mark off the road for some serious mods, that will take months to complete. No sense now trying to justify keeping the Jeep, since this deal is done.

I will drive this car until the Mark is done, but I would like to have it in MI for Kaleigh Rae to drive before tag renewal time the end of next month.

Here it is... 2003 Stratus R/T :)

Hmmm, nice car.And you say you are going to give it to your daughter,,,,,I was just wondering,,,,,Have you ever thought about adopting,I could really use another dad,,,,,,,:)

Nice dodge. Always thought they looked good from the outside :D not too shabby on the inside either!! Congrats. Daughter is going to cry about the gas mileage on that Jeep, unless she is not paying for gas ;-)

Thanks, Guys. No power adders for this car. In fact, I wish it had a little less hp, since this car is for my 16 year old daughter. It has 200hp / 205tq and gets EPA city 21 MPG, hwy 29 MPG from what I have read.

The Jeep on the other hand, got 17 mpg going down hill with a 30mph tail wind and the engine turned off coasting :)

I feel 100 times better that this will be my daughter's first car, rather than the Jeep. :)

Sorry King Triton, My kids are doing a fine job making sure I can never retire as it is :)

Nice car Mike. I do l like those Jeeps though.

Engine power can be a safety thing too. Sometimes you need it to avoid an accident, like pulling into traffic.

Thanks again everyone :) I called my daughter last night to see if she looked at all the pictures I emailed to her. She is very happy, excited, and she loves the car. :)

Her last day of school is this week, and can't wait to come here to the ATL and drive it. We will probably take it on a road trip to North Carolina to visit my oldest daughter, and family next month.

Since I can't keep my hands off this car, it has seen the clay bar, 3 coats of Nano wax, and a final buffing with the Porter Cable 7424. The silver paint now has the pop it should have. :)

You have no heart Mike, this car is about as torqueless as you can get.
Martin's wife has one of these ... it's so slow it's not funny.
I think a different shift schedule might take care of some of the problems.

I wish I had a car like that when I turned 16 though ;)

lol Jeremi :) My first car did not even run - 66 Dodge with a blown-up 383. Guess I have raised the bar a little :)

This R/T is a porker - 3200lbs, and I agree with you, not much pull with the 3.0 sohc -205tq @ 4500 RPM, so you really have to spin this thing up to get it moving.

I look at this as a good thing for a 16 year old though. At least there will be no hard launching with this thing.

It is the sister car to the Mitsubishi Eclipse, and it rides like it is on rails though. The total opposite of that Jeep.

I don't know why you guys would call that car *slow*. Ever been in a Corolla? 2800# and 120hp? or a Civic? And I still don't think they are all that "slow".

Especially for a gal that is starting to drive. I would not get anything with more than 150hp.

I'd want some more "iron" around her as well. But I guess today's airbag technology is replacing heft when it comes to protection in accidents.
