UK user needs advice

When I bought my first MG, I replaced the Lucas alternator with a GM Delco unit. Then I replaced the Lucas electronic distributor with an old used points distributor. I never had any problems with it.
I sold that MG for parts and kept the GM alternator and put it in my current MG. It already had an aftermarket ignition installed. Both these cars run/ran great and reliable.
I've spent some time in the Midlands working at the MIRA and Rover test tracks. I wish I had my MG with me to drive on your roads though.
MG parts are easy to get here, but you might have a little trouble getting Mark VIII parts over there. Let us know how it turns out. We might be having to send you some parts.

Hi, ive been to the MIRA research place many years ago and also down to the Thatcham centre, you know the one, where they take a brand new car and catapult it into another one! criminal i say!! then they repair it, work out how long it took, divide it by two and thats how long the insurance company pays you for when you are a repairer lol!
