I'm back from GM Carlisle and it was a great weekend. As those who have attended Carlisle events you know it's can be oppressively hot and humid or miserably damp and rainy. Well this weekend was amazing, temperature was about 75 with no humidity and beautiful clear skies. You could not hope for better weather!
GM Carlisle is very sparsely attended compared to Ford. There were far fewer cars with large areas vacant and maybe 1/3 the number of vendors. Lots of spectators though.
I was there with my El Camino group. I finished Third which was a total shock as I really didn't expect to get anything at all. There were some really heavily modified cars and since mine is very subdued in comparison I didn't expect a win, especially with a white car.
So CLICK HERE for lots of pictures to see. Note the concept Camaro convertible. Also the $750,000 "HEROS" truck, it's an amazing piece of art, even the semi and trailer that transport it are a real work of art.
One really amazing thing to see was a huge swarm of bees that where suddenly flying around the tables outside the food court. It was a huge swirling cloud and at first I thought they were flies! Apparently they were moving the Queen and they decided to start a new nest on one of the tables, I was lucky enough to see this all happen. Note the progression from a large cloud that got tighter and tighter until they settled in one spot. That night a beekeeper came in to take them away.
