Howdy everybody
I have a 96 conti and I guess its finely time to do something about my suspension. I am considering the conversion. I am looking for advice and options. I think I can do the labor myself, but would like to hear from someone that has done this. Any input would be great. Thanks,Tony

I asked this question and got no responce at all. I have since ordered the Strutmaster 4 wheel passive coil spring conversion and will recieve it tomorrow. I am going to install it the first of next week so I will have all the first hand knowledge of this conversion and will be glad to advise on the results and how the install went. Wish me luck... Tony:)

Good luck Tony. :)

We don't have many active Conti owners. We'll welcome your input!.

Got it!!!

first report

first report

Got the front done today! The driver side took me a whopping 4 hours for one strut and all the related hoop-la. The passenger side took 2 hours. I learned a bunch from side 1.:) I think the rear will be a breeze, but I will know morw tomorrow. Then its brakes and caliper painting. Then tuesday to the muffler shop with my flowmasters. I am happy I only have to do this suspension job once. I think it will be well worth the effort, but not much fun!!! :)

The rear

The rear

The back springs are a breeze, took only about an hour for both sides. Now for the results. The ride of course is not as plush and cushy as the bags, but I like the way it handles. It corners much flater! Overall I am very happy with the conversion and I am done with air bag problems!!! The car sits very nice and the ride hight is just about right. I will post again in a couple of days after I get the flowmasters on. Later,Tony
