Parting Out 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC Black/Midnight Black w/ Chrome 18" Bullitts

This car was in a side impact accident straight at the passenger side door/quarter panel. The passenger side door, door trim, and skin are completely no-good. Everything else still works a-ok, so if you need any door-specific parts like the switches, etc, then that is good to go. The whole car has 81,591 miles on it, and it WAS a really damn good car until it got hit. The part that isn't smashed is still awesome. As of right now, I have sold exactly nothing from the car, so if you need it, I have it.

The wheels are chrome Bullits, in Mark VIII/Thunderbird bolt pattern. 18 x 9. The front tires are Dunlop SP9000's 255/45/18 with about 30 miles on them. The rear tires are Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 255/45/18 that came from my Charger and those tires had 5400 miles on them when I put them on these wheels. The wheels themselves also have only 30 miles on them. Car got hit literally the second time out after installing them. No damage or scrapes at all. They all roll true.

Also, the car has the following performance mods, installed:

GMS 4v coils - $200
LMS MAF/Icebox kit - $180

Parts I never installed:

Meziere Electric Water pump/ built in idler pulley and relay/wiring harness - $250
3.73 Trac Lok rear pumpkin - $280

I cannot afford proper storage for my car, and it has to go to salvage by this Friday before my development gives me the last straw. Reasonable offers are accepted.

Send me a PM for anything.

Pumpkin is complete, aluminum, and I got it from Ford. I wanted 4.10s, but 3.73 was all they offered.

Welcome. :)

Where is the vehicle located?

I may be interested in the wheels/tires.

Coils and pump sold.

Here are the wheels pics:

Do you have the black seats? I might be out by NYC this weekend, possibly I could pick them up if they are in good shape.

To all who have or are considering interest in this poster's items for sale-

I expressed interest in the FRPP differential this user listed for sale in his original post in this conference. Upon request, HardGear tendered an image of what he described as the FRPP pumpkin with a IRS girdle brace. I immediately recognized that the center section was not a Trak-Lok but rather a Torsen, and asked HardGear about this. He claimed he purchased the unit from a shop called Forte's Parts Connection in Framingham, MA and that he was sure it was the FRPP pumpkin for a '99 Cobra. Upon investigation, I found that he had lifted the picture from a Mustang owner's website and used it to represent the item listed for sale, even going to the trouble of renaming the file to "mk8frppdiff.jpg" from its original name "DT_diff_gears.JPG". He claimed that he must have sent the wrong picture but would send the correct one right away.

I sent HardGear a Postal Money Order via Express Mail (expedited at his request) on October 5, 2007 in the amount of $300.00 for the "FRPP differential" after being promised a photo and tracking number by the end of that weekend. Thus far, I have received a photo showing what appears to be the correct part but no shipping confirmation or tracking number.

This is not to say for sure that HardGear cannot be trusted or has ripped me off, but as he has not responded to any of my PMs since October 11th and none of my phone calls since October 9th, I have become very wary of the transaction. Despite feeling uneasy about a transaction with a new user, I initially did not predict this would be an issue because of HardGear's willingness to provide his telephone number, address, information, and expedited shipping. I am sorry to say now that I should have listened to my "gut instinct" and never sent money to HardGear without seeing a confirmed legitimate photo and proof of trustworthiness. Even then, there would be no guarantee that he would have shipped the part anyway.

So, as the saying goes, "Buyer Beware." I will be sure to ask the moderators to edit or remove this post if or when I ever hear from HardGear and receive the item I paid for. Until then, I would advise anyone here NOT to trust him with your hard-earned money.

It's really, REALLY disheartening to feel ripped off by a fellow "enthusiast."

Dom,
PM me details on this user, I might be able to shed some light on it. I hope I am wrong in my assumptions.
