Rear break replacement

Quick question, my 98 Marks rear breaks are shot after 93,000 miles. Is the install the same as the front?

No you have to use a tool to screw the caliper back in... there is one you get for rent at your local auto parts store... it works much better than the
"cube" tool that costs about $9 and doesn't fit the slot in the caliper all that well.

My local auto parts store doesn't rent and all they have is the cube for sale. The parts guy said to use a channel lock to turn the piston but this is taking forever and I dont see much progress. Any suggestions?

Find a store that rents the good tool. For one thing, Channel locks will ruin the boot. The other problem is that you need to apply pressure while turning it.

Went down and bought the good tool. Problem now is that the piston turns but will not go back up into the caliper. Am I missing something or what? I'm about to get my old C clamp and try that .

It goes back up very slowly...give it some time.

Don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure you are using the tool the properly?

Thank you guys for your paitence. I used a little more Muscle and got the Pistons to screw back up.Still had to go out to Ford to help me loosten a caliper Bolt that was frozen in the Bracket, and can you believe it,they did not charge me for any labor an a half tube of grease..Got it all back together an so far it works. Thanks loads.
