exterior door handle

So I finally got the hub fixed and days later I go to open the passenger side door and it kinda stuck then I felt a crunch, not too bad a crunch but one none-the-less. Now it dont open from the outside, works fine from the inside, and locks and unlocks ok. Is there a tutorial on how to fix this?
 
I bought a kit from Max at FiveStarFord and had a local body shop paint and install the handle for $50. Best $50 I've spent in a long time. ;)
 
I can't find any confirmation, but the complete kit was like $75? It was much more than just the handle you see on ebay all the time.
 
Yes, sometimes it's the handle that is broken and sometimes it's the frame for the handle.

If you order the kit, you get both I believe.
 
This happens more on the Mark VIII than any other car and it's really annoying, especially when it's the driver side.
 
omg I can only imagine, I am so annoyed the few times I need to get in the passenger door, WTF with this car? There are so many inherent problems with it, why is it so popular?
 
Is that really a question? You can probably answer yourself. WHY did you get and keep yours?

Mine has certainly been through most all of the 'problems' of the Mark VIII and I continue to maintain it. There are a number of problems with most any performance car. I will continue to take my problems as they come and continue to enjoy it.

i got a handle from max at five star bout a week ago, for a 95 markVIII for $35. (just the handle) I went to put it on my broken door last night and im having the hardest time getting the new one on. ive got everything reassembled except the hook that releases the door. it seems to have an 's' shape at the top that i cant get my handle onto. any suggestions? Can i just take it to ford to service?

Love my Mark.....Drivers door handle just kind of flaps in the wind. Just bought a pair of chrome ones.....can't wait to get em in. As for why to keep the car......all cars have issues.....no machine is free of them, so why not drive a machine that has luxury and style...not to mention performance....and deal with the bad as it comes?

Welcome Sam.

I think you'll have to take the handle back off to attach that "s" shape rod.

As far a breaking door handles goes, If our cars didn't have such good door seals, we probably wouldn't have so much trouble with our door handles.:D
 
I wax the door wher ethe seal meets and try and keep the seals plyable by using silicone. In addition I don't horse the door handle anymore, and tell my passenger to do the same and wait until I unlook the door before they start yanken on the pass. side handle. The new replacements have a much thicker cross section, but regardless there's no sense overstressing a known weak point anyways.
 
seriously ive had a few chances to just sell my car and buy a new one but im stuck to my car ive had a long list of problems with my cr ive owned it for 2 years now pretty much to this date lol my car is on jackstands as we speak my rear bearings just blew out eright after i did a full front brake job lol one thing fixed = one thing broken is usually how it goes for me but it's cool after i fix it again im gonna get back in it and haul some ass and race a few people and eljoy myself my car makes me feel good.ha ha
 
ok any directions on how to fix the handle? I'm about to embark on this, thanks
