Too Many Cars

Today I had a go with an 07 Mustang and I surprised the hell out of him! Ok so it was only a 6 cylinder Mustang! I was driving my 95 MK8 and this guy was weaving in and out of traffic so I decided to play! The best that we could do is line up side by side second car at the light. I tried to get him to drive slow to let there be enough distance between us and the first cars that were at the light; but he just didn't get it! Finally there was enough distance for him to pass the car in front of me and I followed suit. Obviously he had the jump on me but I was still able to pass him when I hit about 90 MPH. He asked me what was done to the car and I told him just a slightly higher stall speed in the converter.
I was surprised that I didn't just blow right by him so I did some research.
AT http://www.carforums.net/showthread.php?t=10251 they have supposed published times for both cars.
This website suggests that I should have lost because a 6 banger Mustang is supposed to run 6.9 seconds 0 to 60 and 15.3 seconds in the 1/4 while a 95 MK8 is supposed to run 0 to 60 in 7.6 seconds? and the 1/4 in 15.8 seconds?! I have very little done to the MK8 but it ran 14.9 in the 1/4. If I had read this info before I ran it at the track maybe I would have run slower! A 93 MK8 is stated as running 4/10's faster in the 1/4 than a 95 MK8? What is the difference in the 93 MK8 and the 95 MK8 to make such a difference?
I guess that you can't believe everything that you read on the internet.
