Have any you guys tried these?

I am usually a proponent of new and innovative products, but these folks are very general in their descriptions. They don't explain how their gases are different than any others, and they don't explain how their filament is different than any others. All they say is that it is better. For lack of any other info, it's all hype.

At least with the HIR bulbs that are on the market, they explain how their bulbs are different (infra-red reflective coating), they explain the science behind it, the theory is sound, and the results have been proven out by some of this board's members (like me and JP). Customer testimonies can be faked, and comparison photos can be altered.

I could be wrong, but I am suspicious about this product.

Not to sound out of the loop but; what are HIR bulbs?

Halogen Infrared Reflective bulbs. They have a transparent infrared reflective coating on the inside of the bulb that reflects the invisible, heat transmitting wavelengths coming from the filament back to the filament. This redirects the heat from destroying the headlights to making the filament hotter, and thus brighter, all for the same power usage. You kill two birds with one stone - prevent further heat damage to the headlight AND produce more light.

They cost about $50 for a pair of bulbs. They are the next best thing to REAL HID lamps...halfway between regular halogen and HID in light emittance.

I emailed them for more information and this what they sent me.

You can buy real HIDs for less than $100... why waste your money on colored lights with less light output than regular halogen.

The problem with your '93 is NOT the bulbs, but the lenses and the burned reflectors. Replace the assemblies and your lights willbe bright again.

Pretty much the same jibber-jabber they have on their site. Now I'm even more skeptical. And I don't know how a filtering coating on a bulb makes it 25% brighter. The 90 REPLACEMENT warranty is a nice touch too...meaning if you don't like them, TOO BAD!

Right Bud, but one would need to address the heat problem of the original setup or else run into the same problem 1-2 years after buying new assemblies.

Sorry I'm new, does Jamie go by the name Jamie as his call name or does he go by another name. I was thinking to try and mess with the housing this next week so I would like to find that repair.
